Should we take it with a grain of salt since it's Vecsey?

1.) its the New York Post talking about basketball.

2.) its Peter Vescey for crying out loud!

So, yes it should be taken with a grain of salt, if not completely dismissed altogether.

Peter Vescey said last year that "JVG and CD weren't talking to each other."

I understand the Vescey hate completely. But we are talking New York's JVG here. I bet he does have some kind of reasonable inside info.

What makes you think that Rudy is the one? In fact, Rudy is even worse than JVD now days.

My guess he's candidates would be Carlisle , Adelman, Silas and ellie. if we get Carlisle i would'nt be all that dissapointed. he is a very good coach. he had success in Detroite and in indiana. Aldelman's record speaks for itself. .

Rudy has the great ability but not health. We could try to get Larry Brown ?

Well, he does go so far as to say it comes from an "impeccable source":

"According to an impeccable source, Van Gundy's mind has been made up for weeks, if not months, to distance himself from the stress of the sidelines regardless of whether Houston got bumped early on or took the season to the championship limit."

With the success of Nelson, I would support a Rudy comeback. LA just didn't work out. Rudy knows how to use a big man.

actually la was doing pretty well with rudy. until he got the stomach problems and phil took over again. i would love to have rudy, paul silas, stan van gundy. NO TO LARRY, NO TO FRATELLO. their just like jvg, but larry is more stubborn. .

    Free Yao and Tmac offense.

    Bring Adelman on board.

I am surprised that Larry Brown has not been mentioned yet. Definately the highest talented coach available IMHO

Larry Brown would make some sense. He was the number 1 candidate when Jeff was hired, but choose Detroit over us. Of course after the NY coaching debacle his stock is much lower.
