The roster spot has to go to somebody and the money will be paid to somebody. Not too many teams run under the cap. You have to deal with reality. He's in the NBA and he's a playa. He did develop. There are plenty of players in the league worse than him and there were plenty of players in the league worse than him over the last 5 years. I would have much rather had him and paid him the money he was paid than to pay Moochie, Rybo, and a whole host of other already forgotten no names we've had on the team the last few years that got paid their dough. You need to accept reality. He's a legit NBA player and is very likely to still be playing in the league for at least another 5 years.
On another note, this is a player I will be watching this year. I really think Boki would be an ideal fit in Adelman's offense. And I think he will continue to improve this year. I expect him to shoot right at 40% from 3 and 50% from the field, with good offensive efficiency. If he does, I'd like to see us make a run at him in free agency, providing NY doesn't lock him down with a long term contract.
