Good. It's official, finally. We got our very own Euro guard.

Seeing as how this is actual news and not some wild made-up trade proposal, I don't know how to respond. Oh yes, I remember now...

Good job Rockets. I'm looking forward to seeing what the guy can do.

    Welcome V-Span!

    Cool! I'm ALL for this.

Even if he does end up sucking, he can't be any worse than last years scrubs.

So I guess this counts about $1.5 mil against the MLE this year? Guess it's not that big of a deal. The only FA left are either not going to take MLE, or is worth the full MLE anyway. But I do hope we can use the rest of that money on someone who can be a rotation player.

I think Spanoulis is 6' 4". Pretty big for a point guard. And it is highly likely that McGrady will play some two guard minutes when we need size.

    Great!

    Yao/Mutombo
    Battier/Howard/Hayes
    T-Mac/Bowen
    Snyder/Head
    Alston/V-Span/Sura (IR)

3 spots left. Novak should sign. I don't think we can sign JL3 because either him or V-Span will be 3rd string. I don't think that's acceptable for either one. Need to find two more scrubs to complete the IR. :)

So is his game comparable to Manu? Honestly, I really don't know anything about him.

Well Manu won Euroleague as an MVP before he came over. V-Span's team only went to Elite 8 last yr and he was on the Euroleague 2nd team. I think they are not at the same level for now.

He's like a poor man's Manu in that he gets to the basket really well, is a good passer and a chronic flopper.

V-Span looks slow in some video highlights I watched. So I am not too thrilled with this signing.

Can someone give a highlight V-Span's game?

Good news hopefully he can step in and play some backup minutes. i would tend to believe that jvg would have a big say in this particular move since i am sure he would have had plenty of scouting reports and game tape to look over.

hopefully he will turn out to be a solid rotational player and not be another boki (who still has a place in my heart for his performance in game 4 of the 2004 playoffs)

I'm going to assume that V-Span will be 2nd string and JLIII 3rd string if we sign JLIII. I think JLIII will be content/satisfied with 3rd string. I don't know though.

I don't think Snyder will start. I agree about signing Novak though cuz of all the good reports of him being like Bullard/Padgett.

Our roster is looking good..hopefully we get a good 4.
