There's two projects. LeBron's production company actually announced theirs first on June 1st. The timing of the project announcements (a few days apart) was surely to grab momentum of the protests over Memorial Day, etc.

The Westbrook project (while announced 2nd) does seem like the more serious production. Stanley Nelson is much more accomplished than Salima Koroma is for Lebron's team.

Look's like Koroma might have renamed hers to match Stanley Nelson's. Might be something going on here behind the scenes.

Here's another one that was also announced June 1st, same as Lebron's team. Seems clear everyone was pitching stuff that they had done but couldn't find producers until the riots.

Stanley Nelson seems like the best choice, though.

Westbrook is backing the person who's spent his life making documentaries "examining American History and experiences." LeBron's girl is a millennial with only one project under her belt.
