17-7 doesn't "suck". I think he can start being injury free. He's the small forward that you are looking for. He shoots the three, scores a lot when he is not the primary scorer, and he can rebound better than the PF you have now. NBATalk is just that-talk buncha bull. Russell and cap fillers for Van Horn or Cato and #23 for him. ------------------
First of all, NBA Talk is neck-deep in manure. They have a reputation for creative writing, and they live up to it. If you have that site bookmarked, delete it right now. They are the National Enquirer of NBA web sites. They recently said that Gary Payton asked for a trade. Call to Seattle -"totally untrue." Anyway. Utah is hot for Van Horn, and they can have him. Why get rid of Cato and then get someone who plays very much like him at times. SOFT. Mo Taylor is not much of a rebounder, but he has shown a willingness to work on that. Mo always plays hard, even though he doesn't have the same nose for the ball that Kenny Thomas, Steve Francis, and Dream do. I don't believe Van Horn could play the three for the Rockets. He is not strong enough or quick enough defensively. Also, with Cato likely to be heading to Chicago for their pick, who do we give them? If the Jazz want to give up Russell and Marshall - which is questionable, given the source, Utah can have him. We'll take their playoff spot next year! Van Horn is pretty good for a "soft player". The Rockets don't really need both the inside outside offensive game from the SF spot. They need one or the other with the zone D. Van Horn is the best available outside shooter than can also rebound too. Let's just say he's way more of an improvement over Shandon Anderson and he works good as a 2nd or 3rd scorer. The Jazz might be interested in him, but NBATalk is the biggest load of crap I've seen. No way will they give up both of them for him. ------------------
