Yeah, me too. But... from what I hear, lower end tickets are over $100. So I'll probably just settle for watching the YouTube videos once the tour starts. I have a rule against paying over $100 for ANY concert. I won't even pay over $50 unless I really like the artist/band. Sure would love to see =vh= though. Call me a sucker for still being excited about the chance to see the bands I listened to in high school, even if they're not what they once were. I know a lot of people don't like the whole idea, but I LOVE IT.
Some rehearsal videos... About a minute long each. Damn, they sound TIGHT! Why would you say that? I went to see the Rolling Stones and they rocked the house.....I will bet the VH show is going to be pretty darned good. Don't be a snob ! DD
Wolfgang looks like a scared fat kid up there trying to hold the jock of Dave and his father. Sounds like he can hit the notes, but he is a verrrrrrrrrry far cry from Michael Anthony. Such a shame that they couldnt bring him back in for a REAL reunion gig.
I could not agree more - I saw Van Hagar just about every time they came to town, but never with Diamond Dave. I get chills watching those youtube videos. I can't believe they're not coming to Houston...
I heard on the radio that they'll be adding dates for next year, Houston included. Rod Ryan said he's going to the 2nd show on the tour because he doesn't want take the chance that the whole thing will fall apart before they can make it down here.
Man, I can't believe how tight these guys are sounding. Who would have thought Eddie would make such a comeback after seeing how bad off he was less than a year ago. Even Wolfgang is nailing most of MA's backgrounds. Keep in mind, these are just REHEARSALS. I can't believe it, but I'm actually thinking about forking up the cash to see this tour. That is, if it doesn't implode before they get to Houston. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/sAzexbU-lds"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/sAzexbU-lds" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mTIGgCz8hNI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mTIGgCz8hNI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
I liked the older Van Halen stuff. Don't really care for anything from 1984 on. And definitely nothing when Hagar was with the band. The least you can say from the clips posted is that they're not embarassing themselves.
Sounds pretty good to me. Id love to see it in Houston - count me in! Personally I grew up in the Van Hagar era, so thats what I know best - but I love the energy and vibe that DLR brings - he just has IT.
Awww... I really would like to see =vh= but there's just no way I can pay $100 or more for a ticket. That makes me sad. :-(
Wolf needs to work on his stage presence, but his vocal are surprisingly good considering MA's vocals are one of the least replaceable parts in Van Halen.
i wanted to go anyways but DLR's voice sounds a lot better than i thought it would. it's not great but it doesn't disservice the classics and that's good enough for me. i'll drop a hundred if they come to houston.
