If they could just gag Diamond Dave until it's time to sing... I saw them open for Black Sabbath at the Sam Houston Coliseum in '77 or '78 and they rocked.
That was 30 years ago. Need I remind you that since then, this has been exposed? <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kX9qcggRo18"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kX9qcggRo18" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
I've seen that video and yes, it's brutal. But the positive thing is that Dave looks to be in excellent health. And I highly doubt he'll be singing like that when they're doing the original versions of their songs. Dave will be ready to go, don't you worry. Frankly, I'm more worried about Eddie than Dave.
i'll believe it when i see it. i say they get into a few shows and all hell breaks loose and they cancel the rest of the tour
There's no way they don't schedule at least one date in Texas. Whether the tour actually makes it there before imploding remains to be seen. I was too young to go to concerts when Dave split with the band. He's one of my favorite front men of all time. I WILL see this tour if possible.
The only way this will work is if Ed and Dave grow their long hair back. They look like a couple of dorks.
I'll stay true to my idea for a concert: 1 1/2 hour set with Roth BREAk 1 1/2 hour set with Hagar That would be worth every penny......
DLR can be a car saleman if this doesn't work out again. dude loves to hear his voice. i do like that they want this to be band with tours and albums rather than a reunion. i think they can make it through a tour but i'll be absolutely shocked if they get an album out. eddie is obviously a fantastic guitar player, same with alex on drums. don't know about dave's voice or the kid's bass playing but new music from van halen would probably be atleast pleasant listening considering what's usually put out these days. last tour with sammy a few years back, they added a whole bunch of dates after the first month, including going through texas. they'll probably see how it goes but i'm betting they come though here.
F You Ed! From vanhalen.com: 8-15-07 - Van Halen's Official Site Places Wolfgang in a Time Machine "Doctored" Album From the sharp-eyed folks at the Idolator: "An eagle-eyed Van Halen fan writes in with news of some revisionist history coming from Van Halen's official site, which has been freshened up for reunion-tour ticket sales: "If you look at the main page on Van-Halen.com, all their David Lee Roth era albums are show on the left and right sides. But you can notice that they've changed the cover of Van Halen I and replaced Michael Anthony with who appears to be Wolfgang Van Halen. They also do not have the band photo on the cover for Women and Children First, because Michael Anthony was on that cover. " Note: We notice that the official site now has replaced the album with the original, correct image. I will NOT see this tour because Wolfgang is not a member of Van Halen. F YOU ED! You had to put your stamp on this somehow, letting your ego shine through. At least Roth is telling the truth, saying this is NOT a reunion, this is a NEW BAND.
