Good thing you guys saw them when you did:

    http://www.tmz.com/2008/03/02/van-halen-tour-unhinged/

Sources tell TMZ the Van Halen tour has just been canceled!

We're told arrangements are being made right now to cancel hotel stays for the tour -- which was scheduled to continue through April 19th. Sources tell us the reason for the cancellation is Eddie -- that he is having "issues."

The last three shows had already been canceled. There have been reports that Eddie was out of it during concerts -- and video of recent performances in which his guitar playing was atrocious.

Reps could not be reached for comment.

Hmmmm, I just sent this to my buddy (who is a Van Halen SUPERFAN) and he said it was a prank.

They are still playing dallass tonight and tickets are still on sale for future shows. He said the cancelled shows were cancelled because of the ice storm up north and they've already been re-scheduled.

It's not a prank. Ticketmaster has it as postponed with a later date TBA for the Dallas show...which was supposed to be tonite. However, the 03/05 Ohio date is still listed. Update: The Dallas show has now officially been postponed to April 24th.

I was going to the show tonite. I got a ticket as a gift.

I don't even want to see VH any more. EVH is such a damn flake that I could care less about this joke of a band. I wish I were never invited. Then, I wouldn't have had to waste my time even bothering.

Sammy Hagar said he would "believe it when he sees it" as far as EVH finishing a tour. He knew all along they would pull up short. It's ridiculous that you cancel a show the day of the show after people make arrangements to attend. They could have officially cancelled four days ago when they were on their in-between break since Feb. 25th. No, we have to wait for TMZ to break the news. Ticketmaster can't even break the news on their site before TMZ and celebrity sites break it.

    What a joke!

I tend to believe that where there's smoke, there's fire. But who knows what's going on. This was posted an hour ago on Billboard. The bolded part makes me wonder...

just saw this on google news:

    http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2008/03/early_exit_for_van_halen.html

According to a statement by tour promoter Live Nation, guitarist Eddie Van Halen's physician said "he is undergoing a battery of comprehensive medical tests to determine a defined diagnosis and recommended medical procedures."

The statement did not specificy the nature of his problems, but Van Halen has battled tongue and mouth cancer in the past, and had hip replacement surgery.

LATEST: Rockers VAN HALEN cancelled a string of comeback gigs so guitarist EDDIE VAN HALEN could return to rehab to be treated for alcoholism, according to reports.

The band rescheduled two concerts in Virginia and Georgia at the end of last month (Feb08) and another this week (beg03Mar08), prompting internet reports claiming all tour dates had been pulled indefinitely.

Representatives for the rockers insist the tour is still on, despite announcing Van Halen "is undergoing a battery of comprehensive medical tests to determine a defined diagnosis and recommended medical procedures."

Now sources tell the National Enquirer the 53-year-old guitarist checked himself into a clinic near San Antonio, Texas, so he could detox for a week after a furious backstage bust-up in Florida with his 17-year-old son and bandmate Wolfgang.

An insider says, "It was the big what-if of the tour - whether Eddie could stay sober.

"Wolf hates it when his dad drinks. He knew Eddie was drunk onstage that night, and was acting cold to him, which set Eddie off. Eddie went beserk and started yanking guitar cables from the pedal boards and throwing cigarettes around onstage.

"At the end of the concert, Eddie was so mad at Wolf, he punched the amp speaker, knocking it over." Van Halen enjoyed a stint in rehab last year (07), which delayed plans for the comeback tour.

The only thing I know is true VH fans are a glutton for punishment. I'm glad to say I'm on the fence and I hop over when I want. They are just too much drama for me to handle. It feels like disrespect.
