I would like to see MoT stick around.. he is undeniably our best post player, and almost automatic. In the post, I have total faith in him.. Though his one on one defense is mediocre, he plays really hard and takes charges all the time. I am proud of him for his effort. He is also a great help defender... he did a great job of helping out on Shaq and especially Kobe...

all of you also have to remmeber that this is the first season he is back from injury.....

Why wouldn't that still count? That counts. My example was going to be Mario Elie. He didn't make it into the NBA until he was almost 30. Sam Cassell, to take another Rocket from that era, was good as a rookie at 24 years old but not much compared to what he is now.

Obviously, experience plays a big factor. There are not many 30 and 24 year old rookies now a days. Under normal circumstances, a player will enter the NBA at around 20 years old and make a large chunk of their progression as a player by the 4th or 5th season. Sam Cassell has been a 19ppg 8apg player since his 5th season.

Not saying they can't improve after that, just that it usually isn't dramatic.

GOOD Shooters have to be defended and this would open the court up so as Yao Ming will have a better chance to developand perform.

What's so good about this lineup that makes ppl hang their hope on it year after year? Ok guys here's the deal, we have an overpaid sg with waning athleticism playing at the 1 whose team is never known for chemistry, an undersized 2 that's not going to be much better, and another old and undersized sg playing the 3, and an overpaid softie who can't defend, doesn't block shots nor grabbing boards at the 4 - with yet another overpaid center who can't shoot trying to play pf. Meanwhile, We have no backup 1 and no backup 2. This is the bloody whole picture. This team is fundamentally flawed. Drastic improvement for a player after 4 or 5 years in the league is just against the odds. When the right deal comes along, I hope JVG and co. will rolls the dice.

You omitted the oversized center with no heart, no stamina and no testicles. There, that disses the whole team.

Now, why do you root for the Rockets?

I totally agree with that sentiment, this team does have a losing culture and just doesnt know how to win. How many blown leads have we seen? How many turnovers in crucial possesions have been made? The losing culture is steve francis. THe desire to win doesnt mean jack when you dont know how to play the game and SF doesnt know how to play it right. All steves heart does is get him to lead the league in technicals and make crucial mistakes because he is trying to do too much. This teams biggest problem is turnovers, and its not surprising steve leads the team and almost the league in turnovers. For the so called leader of this team he needs to stop making so many mistakes and losing his cool. You cant lead a team when you are making the most mistakes and have the most flaws.

I think we already have a good team. I say we look at the coach. He's turning our team slowly but surely into the New York Knicks. I wouldnt be surprised if john Starks started at pg next season. Defense slightly improves, while offense gets drastically worse. JVG has displayed very poor resource utilization skills. He made his most talented player take a back seat last year, rendering his talents void and exposing his weaknesses. You cant tell steve francis to be mark jackson and be mad at him when he cant. Look at the lakers. Gary Payton cant play within Phil Jackson's system. Phil Jackson utilizes Gary Payton's talents instead of harping on the system. Lakers win. Im all for organized play, but sometimes you have to just let your best player play.
