i hope i am eating my words next year...id love to be proven wrong, heck i love the guy as an announcer, but as a coach, i havent seen anything yet...

i feel that replacing a franchise coach like rudy with some schmuck whos claim to fame is hanging for dear life on zo's leg is a mistake...(though that incident did show that he has balls...) his finals run in the depleated eastern conference in 1999 was by DEFAULT...

i would love to see him become the greatest rox coach ever...and if he is trully hired as the coach, ill root for him, but i still hold my scepticism...

Not sure why you're talking so cocky because your posts have not shown me any reason for you to be. I think you should primarily be half court team when your best player is Yao Ming.

I never said Yao would be leading the break as in running the point or handling the ball. My point is that if we become a fast-break team Yao will not be the focal point of the offense, because he's usually going to be the last guy to be on the break.

Last time I checked the Lakers were more of a half court team then just about everybody in the league. Are Sabonis, Bradley, Lafrentz the focal point of their team's offenses? The teams that break as much as possible (i.e. Dallas) do so because their best players are run and gun guys. When you're the Spurs, Lakers, you don't break so much because your best offense weapon is probably going to be the last to 2nd to last guy to cross half court on a break.

By the way have you seen us run a fast break? It's often pretty ugly and even when we score we often seem to barely escape a turnover (see James Posey and his non-existant left hand).

We'll see who's right soon enough. Regardless of who's right, I hope you can keep your arrogant mouth a bit quieter in the future.

Reread your posts. There's no way you go through life thinking/talking/acting like your post, if you do you must be very oblivious. With that said, since you state that Van Gundy is going to be the demise of the Rockets but it doesn't matter what we say because no one will dig it up I've added you to the list of Van Gundy doubters.

See my signature below. I'm going to start tallying the names and I think you're going to be eating your words. I could be wrong and maybe I'll be eating mine, however I feel I respected the people on this board and their opinions even if they differed from mine.

    Look familiar?
Is Yao all of sudden going to be one of the guys leading the break? Is Yao all of sudden going to be one of the guys leading the break?

When I said leading the break, I didn't mean as in running point. I mean one of the guys that were ahead of the pack.

I watched quite many Knicks game 5-6 years back when I lived in NY, and I have to say they were quite enjoyable, more enjoyable than the ISO rox played lately. The Knicks team back then was quite stable, did not go up and down as Rox. JVG is a smart guy, and he certainly put 100% effort in his job. If he takes over Rox, I can't be happier. Let's just hope the deal will be done.

By your earlier post I don't think you respected my opinion because you basically try to talk down to me. To each his own, I respect different opinions but I don't think trying to belittle others is cool. With that said you could be wrong or I could be wrong. We'll soon find out.

Well, I've added you to the Van Gundy doubters list on my signature. Months from now, one of us will have egg on our face.

Does anyone else want to go on record and say that Van Gundy will flop?

All in all, I hope JVG can develop Yao into a dominant low-post player. The way Yao played during the second half of the season indicates Yao's fitness is not there. Right now, he can play one quarter great, but his body can't keep up with 3 quarters.

munco, its all good. I like Gumby. He looks like my dad.:) I like *some* of his coaching techniques, but I wanted Brown,or Carlise so Im really bitter right now. Thats why I seem hostile. I wil warm up to him if he devises a offense, but Im not holding my breath.
