Man get me an invite, I'm there. On the other hand OMR, since you say it is all about money, are you saying if I could get you a similar job as to what you currently have, but in Laredo, for example, at 10 cents more, you would take it. My guess is 10 cents isn't enough to tempt you. And a million is probably not enough to tempt Van Gundy. My guess is he is a smart guy who knows how to make decisons. There will be many faucets involved, money will be one, job opportunity, lifestyle, wife's happiness, along with thousands of others will be considered, then he will decide. We made our best offer. IF he desn't like it, it just wan't to be. I feel the same way about Larry Brown. Oh I wish. But we made him a good offer and he choose something else. To us it seemed inferior, but we don't know all the variable or what makes Larry happy. Sorry it is just not as simple as blaming CD or Les.
Priceless, Pulling out those AWESOME SAT Scores!!! What just miss the 1600 by 1??? Anyways, don't call anyone dump or stupid and keep to your point. BTW, I could care less how many point any on scores on any test on this BBS. Just bring the inside stuff and keep the silly chatter out of it. Go Rockets!
Pretty crafty turning a 17 million dollar difference into a 1 million difference. Not terrible logic, but I doubt Van Gundy's doing the same math. I still think we have an excellent shot, but the money's way better in Washington no matter how you spin it. And I think it's pretty likely he and his family would rather live in DC than Houston. Ultimately those are the two things that might lure him away. Everything else points to him taking the Rockets job.
I think its all about $. Wizards are prob offering around 6-7 mill Hes going to Wash. So stop playing his game. The man does not want the job. Give it to somebody who wants it a person thats hungry to win. Lets follow Orlando and New Jersey get a player to be the coach. Bring in JYD Mario Elie.
? that's not crafty, it's simple economics. You discount the value of your contract by the likelihood that you would receive it all. Even trader jorge would agree with that.
From SamFisher Well you're half-right, it's not crafty at all. Simple economics it is not. Sure, profressional atheles and coaches routinely sign huge deals that are never actualized to their stated worth. In this case you're not even sure of the amounts of the deals (no one can be), much less than the terms so any attempt at accuracy is still a wild guess. Simple economics? Yeah, a few million either way. Bravo on the SAT score, though. Old Man Rock was gracious to you, and so shall I be. I don't care what you think about CD, but your assertion that since he's the point man in this coaching search suggests he's the problem is ridiculous. Batman Jones, are you really sure you like this guy?
