This board is so fickle. Remember when JVG payed $100,000 for defending Yao?

I'll be willing to bet that some of these same people ripping JVG now were suggesting that we should trade Yao 3 months ago.

What? Some message board posts bothers you more than the losing season of Rockets? And you call yourself a bog true Rockets fan? ;)

You can tear me into shreds on this board, if that can translate into Rockets gettting into the playoff and Tmac getting back at that time. :D :)

I think Yao need to tell his players to stop shooting ;) :p ! And to give him the majority of touches. Everytime the other Rockets shoot the ball, the song "Brick House" I think by the Commodors, plays in my head. :)

'Cause JVG has suddenly made a 180 degree turn in his feeling about yao.
Yao is the reason he came here and The same coach fined 100,000$ for defending Yao.

I just want to know why it's news that you're now "officially done" with JVG - you've been whining about him since before he got here, did I miss something or is Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead?

Whatever dude, most fans on this board are die hard fans. Considering how bad the Toyota center attendence is this season, the fans on this board who still follow the rockets when we have little chance on making the playoffs, these are the true fans. What is trite, are those posters who use the terminology "fickle" or "bandwagon fan" to describe their fellow members on this board.

Yao is the best player right now, maybe the most dominating offensive player in the league at the moment, but that doesn't mean Yao is GOD, cannot be critisized. My problem is not with JVG critisizing Yao, or anyone else, but his ability to find excuse after each every f**king game.

It's always the players fault. It goes like this, if we win, it's that "partly us, partly they not playing well." crap. If we lose, then it's the players not playing "hard enough", "no heart", or "not smart enough". Even when he criticize himself, he came out with some crap like "It's on me as the coach that didn't get the team ready", namely "You stupid idiots don't do what I told you".

Tell us, Jeff, what exactly is your job as a coach when get paid ~$5mil per? If it's just lay out plays, then players will win, many of us on this board can do that, too. If you cannot have the players ready to play, then what's the difference to have anyone else, say "edc" on this board, to coach the team?

He starts getting into my nerve more and more.

For some reason, I think you folks might have took it wrong or something. I doubt JVG would rip Yao as bad as you make it seem. I didn't see the interview, but I seriously doubt it's a complete rip; maybe just a few things he was dissapointed in.

Well, Yao has put this team on his shoulders the last few games, but that isn't translating into wins, I'm sorry to say. This season has been frustrating: T-Mac can't play due to his injury and our supporting cast kind of sucks.

I just hope next season will be our season.

So those who heard the quote on NBATV. Did JVG actually say Yao's putting in "zero effort" on defense, or did he say that Yao's not playing well on defense the last couple games?

Big difference. If original poster made up that phrase as something JVG said, then please say so.

I'm fine with JVG ripping Yao. As long as he be on other players' ass as well.

umm, i never questioned any ones level of true fandomness, or whatever, and i never said anyone was a bandwagon fan. there are however a lot of people getting worked up over nothing.

(on whether Yao Ming's play tonight is what is expected from him) "No, we can expect much better from him defensively and on the boards. He had one rebound in the 2nd half and he was not active defensively. He's been playing great on offense, really great, and he's not been as good on the boards or defensively in the last 3 games."

    http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/Post_Game_Quotes_031506-172213-822.html

this is exactly what he said... not a mention about "zero effort" like the thread starter decided to make up.

I was referring to the "quote" where you agreed to what TexasStroke said. After a tough loss, people are naturally going to vent. This board is the place and avenue to do it. Sure, people make irrational threads and go on rants they wish they could later take back, but it is better to to that then punch a hole in one's wall.
