While I'd like Yao to show the refs what a real foul is by knocking someone hard to the floor, I prefer him to bring out his A game and take this one back for his coach. And like what the previous poster said, if the refs referee the game evenly, it's definitely going to help the rockets.

You know what would be perfect?

McGrady pays the fine for JVG.. then goes out and drops 60 on Cuban and Dirk's big ugly mugs.

The only rational reason I can think of for the league being so incredibly sensitive to Van Gundy's remarks is that THEY ARE TRUE. Seriously, why would JVG make something like this up? He doesn't strike me as someone who is not trustworthy. Heck, even the tv commentators were making mention of the fact that Cuban had complained about Yao's moving screens during the game. That coupled with the FACT that a few ridiculous fouls were called on Yao and Deke as a result of 'moving screens' further validates what JVG said. Sometimes the truth hurts the worst, and looks like the league/refs got busted.

JuanValdez is right on the money (no pun intended). There was no way Stern was going to allow the legitmacy of the league be questioned. There are too many billions in revenue at stake.

Yao should pay at least half of it.

Sure, Vegas people must be calling Stern like crazy as well. However, the huge fine speaks for itself. NBS has just shot itself in the foot.

    They interviewed David DuPree.

he said that I felt the Rockets were going to win this series, especially after the 2-0 start. But Avery has surprised him showing that he can infact "coach" meaning he can change whats needed to adapt to the opponent.

he felt that the Rockets were going to win game 4. David still believes the Rockets will win the series.

Regarding the JVG statements and fine, he said. Look, it shows. The Rockets win when Yao is on the floor, and when he's not, they lose. He needs to stay in the games.

DuPree also said what JVG said was complete crap and that whatever happens to Yao is obviously within the rules, otherwise the refs would call or not call the fouls. He said the Rockets needs to play tougher cause this is the playoffs.

NO kidding. He says players aren't ref'd differently. Then why doesn't Bowen get the same treatment of Dirk?

what complete and utter bull****. I thought america was Supposed to be big on freedom of speech, but every time anybody, coach or player, says anything remotely critiscing the NBA they pull this crap. Its a disgrace!!!

I hope that the Rockets hold up their end of the bargain and blow the mavs away for the rest of this series, they owe it the Van Gundy.
