Regardless of everything else, Cuban is a punk. Yao is not Shaq. Yao is not overly aggressive, he is not getting an unfair advantage from the refs. He is not aggressive enough, and he gets whistled too much. So what is Cuban doing trying to get calls on Yao? He's being a punk, trying to get an unfair advantage. The Mavs were having a hard time defending the pick and roll, so Cuban thought he would do something about it. They ought to not let him into the Toyota Center for game 6.

So what does the NBA do? They reward Cuban for being a punk, and then expect JVG to be a nice little boy and be quiet about it. That's just BS, and the Rockets ought to aggressively sue the league over the fine, and especially if the league tries to suspend or ban JVG.

Good companies invite criticism, that's one of they ways they improve.

The NBA's officiating has been horrible for years and years, and shows absolutely zero interest in doing anything about it. So maybe it will take legal action to get the league to change.

It's like a company, say Enron, fining an employee for blowing the whistle on the company. Sure, they can do it, but that doesn't make the company right, and the employee should turn around and sue their *sses, or nothing will ever change for the better.

And, for the record, I posted my thoughts about the officiating after Game 1, which the Rockets won.
