I agree with that. They are not like the Trailblazers...fortunately. That would make it almost impossible to root for this team.

"Good afternoon. I would like to address my
decision to cut short the morning shoot around.
The truth is that I had to take a large, time-
consuming dump... Okay, I'll take questions now.
... Anybody? Where are you people going?"

    Hmm...

Considering how non-media friendly JVG is...talking to the media an hour and a half before game time?

I think they talk to the media before every game.

You can really tell who's the SF clan nowadays by reading posts against JVG.

Indeed. I say I like Yao, I get labelled a YOF; I stick up for coach, when he did nothing wrong yet is getting bashed left and right, I get labelled a JVGOF; I say (last season), that I think we need a change in direction from Rudy, I get labelled a Rudy hater; I say CD made some bad trade decisions, I get labelled a CD hater; I use GAAP and finance principles to prove Les is not a cheap baster, I get labelled stupid (although my IQ is, shall we say... x above the American average). With all these labels, it's no wonder 3M invented post-its. Just take all the post-its and stick them to my head. Did I miss anything? Oh yeah, I'm a Steve hater for saying he needs to cut down his turnover. Hand me another post-it will ya?

Once again... not Pro-SF as much as Pro-players, and anti (specifically) overberaing coaches, like in this case our JVG.

Players play. Players are on the floor with the ball. Players perform or not. Players win or lose. At a 5 years-in-league point in any player's life, the player (whether star or not) does not benefit form a jerk trying to crush their ego with their own ego.

This is about ego vs. ego. Not player vs. coach... but in a league of players, you I choose to side with the players that score the points, not the chimps that draw the play on a dry erase board.

But if the coaches want to have ALL POWER, then maybe they should lace 'em up, and get out there and attempt a crossover on a guy with more height than them.

SF and YAO and the ROCKETS (players) put the butts in the seats, and get the TV's tuned to the game... NOT the Coach, be it Rudy T, or JVG or stinkin' Phil J for that matter.

    Players win.

    Coaches take credit.

JVG takes credit in a dubious, undeserving manner... as of yet.

Yes CD has made bad deals. Yes Les can be proven to be a spender (he's no Drayton Mc). Sure Yao needs more touches per game. Yes of course obviouslyt SF has had too many TO's to be satisfied with his play.

But JVG is also an overbearing jerk, trying to right a ship to his liking in too short of a period of time. He has no people skills.

Houston can live with SF... as we've shown by continued support... tix sales, etc. But can Houston appreciate someone that makes people unhappy within ONE HALF of a season, and has already helped further the demise of a young prospect (EG) by suspending them indefinitely instead of helping them work through problems? And then adding SF to the list of those suspended?

JVG needs to chill. Or A LOT MORE players besides just SF will be leaving, and coming back...

    To HAUNT us for years.

JVG should stick to his first statements of how he "came here because of Steve" instead of just seeing how fast he can destroy Steve's game... and all team unity... and all sense of jelling that we were having...

    He's got subscriptions.

I'm sick of people making excuses for players.........especially players making $80 million. I'm glad JVG is here. These players need a good kick in the a$$. These guys are paid to play basketball. I'm sure a lot of ya'll would love to be in their positions, but instead they squander it. I'm glad JVG got rid of Eddie, he would have just been a cancer by not showing up.....but hey we have stevie for that now. I hope that the players that cry, make excuses, and are more concerned about their image than the win get the heck outta here. This is basketball people, a game yes, but also a business, and if an employee thinks he's above the system then get rid of him (trade him....but not now, wait for the summer when his trade value will go up). Steve is all talk and no show....way to inconsistent. He just knows what to say in front of the camera so he can look better, but on the court he doesn't know how to make anyone else look better either (assists). Face it, the boy is selfish, and always has been, since draft day.

Different sport, but I guess I was more Moon minded than Glanville minded too.

I understand that the players play.

    That's all.

Do remember every coach the Rockets had with Mo Malone? Ralph Sampson? Dream even?

Right of the tip of your tongue without lookin it up?

Exactly. We root for the team on the floor inside the stripes, not on the side wearing the suits.

As a rule of thumb... sports of all kinds are followed because of the players.

I've seen a poll on this board, wherein 70% of people want to see him go. (Not that I'm for it, at least not this season, or without a chance for him to prove himself.) Is that all the people who voted are out-of-towners?

I'm speechless on that part. You have great eyes to the world, young man.

100% true, except we should not allow the inmates to rule the asylum.

Tell me IROC, do you believe Steve or JVG?

I believe JVG simply because he has more to lose because coaches are usually the one's to take the fall, not the players.

    7300 baby....long and strong.

    Heh heh...good reply.

One note....JVG can't quit (or be fired this year)....if he did, he'd be a martyr. And the media and fans would go ape-sh*t on Francis being a "coach killer." Even if it wasn't totally true, the perception would be there.
