Maybe Van Gundy was pissed with the guys because they let up their focus after a win like they do so many times. You know, the guys get loose and play around in practice with swollen heads after their "big" win over the Bucks...JVG seeing their behavior and explodes, sending them home. Maybe, maybe no.
Perhaps someone who knows better can verify but the team walk through practice is just one of many things a player would do today at the TCenter, right? Don't they also do light workouts with weights, watch film, and individual drills? The 20 minute team session would only have lasted an hour to an hour and a half anyway...Clutch, Jeff, anyone? What's the time distribution for home pre-game activities?
that's been the problem for going on 5 years. This is one of the most inconsistent teams in the league. One week they look like a top 4 seed, the next lottery bound. JVG is trying to break old habits. If the players don't like it, then get the hell outta here.
I personally dont listen to 610 much myself, but just how reliable are they? The video tape of Francis never made any of the local news that I saw, and was looking for it... You know some news guy would have had a field day with that scoop. Where they just a tool of SF or what? Anyone?
See here's the thing. If JVG DOESN'T tell the media, he gets bashed and we have speculations. When JVG DOES tell the media, we say he's airing out dirty laundry. Dude just can't win can he?
That videotape probably never existed. It was just a bull**** lie Steve Francis made up to cloud the issue, hoping that it would be forgotten the next day and that talking about some imaginary videotape would be a lie that would be believed by some people (it worked with some guys here), and that he could just move on without an apology.
I just heard the report its offical it was 2 out of his 3 remaining hairs that were cut off due to the pratice being short.
No, I just no he's not apologizing so we can sit here and complain about it, but its apparently clear, that it won't be a big deal in the organization. So move on to other complaints.
It's a typical statement making move. Really, how many motivation/discipline tools does an NBA coach have. What should have happened (as any high school athlete should have known) is that the veteran leaders on the team call a meeting and say this is our team, it's up to us to make winning happen, now let's get out there an run our own practice. But I guess our boys were just happy to head on home to another afternoon of x-box.
So where did you find that pearl of wisdom? So you really believe that there is a videotape that proves that Steve Francis was at home? And even if, he still missed the flight, and lied about it later. I think we could move on if he apologized. But it is obviously part of a lingering issue. So it's bullcrap to say "it won't be a big deal in the organization".
