If Francis would rather play PG, than help the team win, then he can go to Washington along with his buddy Cuttino.
I think Marcus would be the perfect complement to Mo. OK, I do agree he is not a 3 offensively, but could he cover a 3 on the defensive side? He's long, quick and athletic.
I've not seen anything which would indicate playing Francis at the shooting guard position would help the team win.
Camby isn't even a center. He's a power forward playing center. What in the world would we want with another power forward and an injured one at that? Also, why would NY trade their only legit big man for another high scoring guard? It doesn't make any sense.
Really, NVE has too much baggage. Contract, attitude, poor FG%. He just hasn't improved for the LONGEST time, and I'm starting to buy this "never will be happy" thing going around about him. Nugzfan & Nuggets4, considering ALL these things for ALL players that will bementioned, and rate NVE among the PG's in the league please BTW Cat, I don't thin that it's accurate to say that 3 solid role players are not orth a star. NVE is not even an All Star, he's past his prime, and is disgruntled. I think 3 solid role players would sound good to Denver right about now? Thing is, those aren't three solid role players, lol KT is solid. Walt is an average backup. Mooch is slightly overpaid, but really, he can start on a few teams in the league. Future considerations? Throw in another player who can get more minutes elsewhere form Denver? Thing is, if we trade mooch, we better be getting a capable PG in return to play when Steve goes downwith migraines/headaches.
You have no guarantee btw that moving Steve to the 2 will help the team win. I don't think it will. Also, NO, he can't go to Washington with his buddy Cuttino. Because you don't just buy the best backsourt in the league from a Gricery store. It comes once in a blue moon.
Explain to me what is so unreasonable about this deal? Cuttino averages about 1 pt less per game, shoots better, from the field, is 4 years younger, and has never desplayed the attitude that's dogged NVE for his whole career. It's not like NVE is some sort of pedagreed basketball talent. He was a second round pick as with Cat. Also, Denver has about the same record as the Rockets, so you can't go complaining about bloated stats. Finally, Cat's price tag is so much less that NVE's that the value quotent isn't even close. When your guy has a public tantrum, what do you think you're going to get? I bet that 1/2 of the GM's in the league would think twice about this trade even if his recent tirade hadn't occured, given his history. Honestly, if I'm missing something, lemie know.
Is this the best backcourt in the league? Hmm. Jason Kidd/Kerry Kittles Terrell Brandon/Chauncy Billups/Wally Sczerbiak D. Fisher/Kobe Bryant D. Armstrong/TMac M.Bibby/P.Stojakovic S.Nash/M. Finley - my pick, if not kobe. M Jackson/L. Sprewell - just kidding Starbury/the Nickel - just "kidding" Stodemire/Wells - um Dickerson/JWill - watch out, fans! Jason Terry is pretty good., and Baron Davis, and Andre Miller, and and and. Backcourts don't win.
what good is cuttino on the nuggets? you guys keep him and hes good friends with francis. i honestly dont want him jacking up all those shots for the nuggets. he just wont fit in chemistry wise. id rather trade nve for role players.
Who siad Cat was DC bound? I don't think Steve gives a **** where he plays. He just wants to win. I have no clue why you are being so hard on him, even in a hypothetical situation.
