It's nice to see you're consistent. As with all your comments involving the Nuggets, don't let facts interfere with your statements. They just get in the way of your arguments.

What facts!? You tell me how many times NVE has been fined so far this season. As I remember he was fined $10K in November for critizing officials and a week later he was fined $20k for something else. You correct me if I'm wrong.

Some more facts. NVE is at 42% shooting and 25 pts/game, down from like 48% and 28pts/game when he was MVP material. Those numbers will continue to fall, especially the points/game.

Ok, how about Eddie Griffin and Glen Rice for Antonio McDyess? Draft picks could be thrown in as appropriate. Denver could start over with a high potential guy (and Glen Rice to match salaries) and the Rockets could move their timetable forward a bit. Dice is 27, matching better with Mobley (27) and Francis (24).

    Timing,

    You said, and I quote:

I can maybe see the malcontent comment for ripping refs, however, the fact that he was ripping the refs to DEFEND his teammates makes that comment rediculous. Nick has been nothing but a leader here. Ask anyone on the team, and they'll all praise Nick. Nick is a warrior and gets pissed off when people aren't giving 100%. Why do you think he's so supportive of Ryan Bowen (otherwise known as the LEAST talented player in the NBA, yet one every team would love to have)?

Denver gets no press, so the fact that Van Exel has grown up, has matured doesn't get any attention. This isn't the Nick that was in LA. Nick does TONS of charity work here. Nick is a team player. Nick rewards the players around him if they play hard. Calling him a malcontent is foolish.

Oh, and one final thing, no kidding his numbers are falling. Teams are double teaming him and swarming around him. Who else should they cover? Raef (the invisible man?), Posey (if he's inside 10 feet maybe), TAW (see Posey) or Shawnelle Scott (no comment necessary there)? Nick is the only option. The fact he's still shooting 42% while getting 25 points a game is remarkable.

yeah, any nba fan who thinks van exel is a headcase isnt a very big nba fan. thats very old news and very inaccurate. honest to god.

he gets fined for long shorts and ripping the refs (for good reason). like n4 says he does alot of good that 80% of nba players never do.

hes just mad we keep losing.

Is this Nugs4 in full retreat or what? I said earlier this year when you were propping NVE as an MVP candidate (you still want to back that one up?) that there was no way he was going to keep up those numbers and you said "we'll see". Well?

NVE has a well earned reputation for being a malcontent. You say he's grown up but he just demanded a damn trade? He has been fined at least twice this season for ripping refs and we're not even out of December yet. All of the things he's doing now he did in LA. And being a malcontent doesn't mean you're not a leader or that you're a horrible person, it just means you're always voicing discontent wherever you go.

    JV,
I thought that was an interesting trade. It made a lot of sense, but I can see from a Denver fan's perspective, they'd have to have better assurance that Griffin will turn out not only to be a solid starter but a franchise player, at least better than McDyess. I think Rockets fans are assuming this because we're inclined to be optimistic, but there's no reason for a Denver fan to think that. Maybe next year, that trade will look better.

A problem with it though is that Griffin could conceivably play 5 one day, or at least has the range so that he and Mo could both play on the floor and not crowd the paint. With McDyess, we'd have to get rid of Mo.

Hey Nugzfan, how about EG and Mo Taylor for McDyess. Willing to throw in Oscar Torres if you're not confident EG will become a superstar. I don't know if I'd do it, but I wonder if that begins to get in the ballpark of reasonable. Move the timeline to next year and assume all players are healthy, if you like.
