I want some gun controls, our founding fathers had NO clue about the weapons we have today when they wrote the constitution.

In the UK and Australia they took away most people's guns and they have far less gun deaths, especially than us.....and their average is FAR less than the US per capita too.

If people want to carry a single shot musket.....that is ok.....but he AR-15s, the pistols the non-hunting guns....are TOTALLY unecessary.

I can name about 30 people that probably wish they would have had one today.

Have you taken a CHL class? Do you know what is involved in being allowed to legally carry a concealed weapon? It's not police training, but its not a surprise pack form the bottom of a cereal box either.

In the case of Dawson, immediate was a measure of seconds really. Police units were already stationed nearby, responded VERY quickly. SWAT teams were there within minutes.

...And no, I don't want guns in the hands of people who want to "fight" freaks and screwballs, I want to see them with the police, who are uniformed and accountable to the public and the govt. I sure as hell don't want "fighters" having them in ready supply, especially given the fact that the danger of a school shooting is far outweighed by the danger of providing guns with an open hand. Jeez.

These crazy senarios will not suck me in this time. But your senario has 2 deaths, mine and the shooters. Alot better than 30.

How many people will die waiting on the police. While the police are hiding behind trees.

What is the talk of providing guns with an open hand? Where are you getting this from?

I'll readily admit that I don't, but I'll also readily admit that I'd rather have the SWAT team during a school shooting then security guards with concealed weapons 24/7.

I mean the root cause of the thing is a friggen gun, and you guys are barganing for more guns?

A bunch of kids carrying concealed handguns would not have stopped this tragedy.

Not to mention it's about the most moronic thing i've ever heard.

So your answer to the rising gun crime in the USA is "more guns"? Guns for everyone?

    So, make it EASIER????

That is insane !!! Countries like the UK and Australia that have put much more strict gun controls in place have FAR less gun related crime per capita than the USA.

This is PRIMARILY a US problem.....

Make it VERY difficult to get guns, and the country gets safer.

Responding to CaseyH, who apparantly wants guns for everyone. Thus, guns with an open hand.

Btw, the 2nd amendment is hella outdated. I think the Simpsons put it best. "If I didn't have this gun Lisa, the king of England could just march in and bully you! DO YOU WANT THAT?!"

What would you rather have...an armed and violent gunman in a school without any swat teams, or an armed and violent gunman in a school with some CHL holders with their Glock's drawn on him. FYI, CHL holders are not taught to go out and hunt down a gunman. They are taught to secure their area.

I'm not bargaining for more guns. I just don't want mine taken away. Simple as that.

I agree. That is a moronic thing...although a group of CHL holders legally carrying a sidearm could have made a big difference.

I'm fine with that really, if its a professionally trained unit, similar to the police, then I'm down with that. Nothing wrong with that in my eyes.

I tend to stab the line at people who want them in the hands of well...close to everyone.
