Why should I or anyone else that is in favor of stricter gun control move out of this country just because we disagree with your viewpoint? Are guys like you and Casey even the majority on this issue? I have my doubts you are which would make it even more ridiculous for people having to leave due to the wishes of a minority group. Well outside your family, there must not be many people who know you own a gun or you must have a completely different personality in real life than what you show on this board. Besides, the way this thread has been going, it was probably a matter of time before that question got asked even if it was going to be asked by someone else.
What really boils my kettle is that this Cho prick fits the profile of a ƒucking Deranged killer. Stalker, check Loner, check, introvert,check....... Then to top it of with a cherry on top is that he also fits the ƒucking stereotype!!! His family runs a laundry mat for chrisake. How many Asians own a ƒucking Laundry Mat?? I'm an Asian American male and have finally given up on this; please let the asian jokes start rolling now!!!
42%?? Thanks for depressing me. Sorry guys but I guess I shouldn't be surprised by this. The society we live in today is one where you are always having to look over your shoulder and that's a damn shame.
I'm sorry, I read my source wrong. 42% of American households own guns. The percentage of individuals would be somewhat lower.
FT....not a judgement, but a question. Why do you feel you need to be packing every day? When I go to the park with my kids the absolute last thing I would bring is a gun. I'd be on edge if I knew there was one on my ankle where my kids could contact it if we wrestled on the grass. Do you live in a particularly 'rough' area where you feel threatned? I can't imagine living is such a place. If I felt so insecure about my safety driving to work, or going to the park, I think I would have to move. Not to attack here...it's tough to phase this stuff on a board. I'm just amazed, is all.
It seems the easy solution is to move away from the problem. Only my immediate family, Mustang club members, and this anonymous board know I carry.
A hunting magazine. A brief Google shows 39% http://www.reason.com/news/show/28021.html, 35% http://www.ncjrs.gov/txtfiles/165476.txt, and 39% http://www.harrisinteractive.com/harris_poll/index.asp?PID=234.
Happy to answer. I've learned that violent criminals can strike anywhere. I live in Brownsville in the RGV, on the border of Mexico, but I carry all the time because there is no place that is immune to violence. I would rather carry and not need it than need it and not have it. We play and wrestle in our backyard. We go to the park for soccer practice.
Your 1st link says there are 77-90 million gun owners, 64% of whom have handguns ... Why in the heck did they not stop more crime from happening?
the average American isn't packing heat every day. don't feel bad...the average American isn't a big Adam Everett fan and desires to eat James Coney Island chili dogs everyday...
Perhaps they are not CHL holders and have the handguns at their house. Not all violent crimes happen in a house you know. Even if they did, the guns may have been locked up or not accessible. I usually believe that the only stupid question is the unasked one, but this one gets an exception.
