I have yet to hear of someone legally (or illegally) obtaining a seatbelt or an airbag and going on a violent spree with them of someone getting mad and setting off airbags to intimidate or injure people. Airbags have accidently gone off but I have yet to hear of anyone accidently shooting themselves with an airbag while playing around. Given the nature of their function while you might consider a gun a safety device it isn't comparable to a seatbelt or airbag.
Because it only takes one gun to stop this guy. But if you have your choice you would prefer as many armed people as you need. Its not the ideal situation but it will work.
They CAN be. Many CHL holders I know participate in IDPA. Many shoot weekly. I know I do. I know officers that will practice with their sidearm only when the qualify.
Or you could say that the police's #1 concern is to prevent as many deaths as possible where you, the vigilante, don't care as long as you kill the shooter on the rampage. I'll take my chances with the police. Uh, I also addressed that to CaseyH - me saying "Charlton Heston" was me addressing any other gun advocate OTHER than you or Casey. It wasn't referring to you. But if you want me to personally insult you, I can. Oh, wait I better not - you have a gun on yourself and may come after me to show me what "fear is".
I agree. Since the advent of highly mechanized military the idea of personal armaments as providing for common defense from foreign threats or tyrannical governments is antiquated at best.
That is pathetic, but not unexpected from you Manny. To think I would come after you because you are an ass...It's not going to happen. My weapon is only drawn for practice, to clean, or to defend. I thank God, that I have only had to draw for two reasons.
I don't deny that they can but it is ludicrous to compare airbags and seatbelts to guns in terms of their function.
When you are in that situation, I'm sure you will be the first to run away out of the room I am in and say "No thanks FT, I'll take my chances over here in this unprotected room waiting for the cops and swat team to get here.
And how would they get to the hands of the FBI? You think counselors at colleges are randomly turning over their notes from confidential sessions to law enforcement agencies??
You are being wishy washy. At 1st you talk about logics and facts. Now you say it's possible ... Yes, sure , it's possible that somehow, somewhere, someone with a gun would be able to do something ... It's also possible that the gunman at VT would trip and fall on a liquid spill and noone would get killed either. Speaking of facts, noone gave me any reply to the facts I asked for in earlier post ... How many criminals have you stopped?
except that a seatbelt generally isn't used as a weapon to kill massive amounts of people...unfortunately, a gun can do that. seriously, this is getting silly.
