    180. 180, you fool. Had he done a 360, he would have turned all the way around and ended up right back where he started.

    Trust me.

It's just the way it is. No one said it's scientific or rational, but everyone drooled over the idea of Shawn Bradley - a 7'4" guy with shooting skills.

While guys 7'6" have sucked - you have to consider the sample size. How many people that tall have played in the NBA anyway? Plus, there's a bias toward taller people being able to play in the NBA (there' less competition at that height). So it may not be a matter of the taller you are the less skilled.

Therorectically, theres no evidence why someone who is that tall can't have awesome skills.

And frankly, I am not sure Yao is fully developed. He still looks thin, despite being 300 lbs. I'm not sure what will happen to him as he gains weight, which surely he will as he gets older....not sure if the weight will be too much load on a human body, or if the increased mass will allow him to get better position. I doubt it will hurt him as he doesn't have much vert anyway.

Just joking, I know you guys have been doing it with NewYorker in the D&D all the time.

LOL, you are right. Thanks to have pointed out my mistake.

But NewYorker is well-known for his 360, 540 or 720 too. That's what happen when you change your side all the time to fit your arguments. ;)

So at last someone quotes this guy and I have to read what he says - I'm amazed that he's still obsessed with me....I must have really impacted his life ya know. It's kinda flattering....scary, but flattering. So flip-floping now huh? I guess I'm pro-China now?

It's funny, I can't deny there's a part of me gets a kick out of some of our passionate Chinese Rockets fans. They really are very sensitive. I have to admit, I toyed with them a bit because it kinda is easy to get a rise out of them...but that was on D&D when I was bored waiting for the Rockets season to start. I had no intention of having it spill over into the GARM. Seriously, I can only imagine that for some - this is entertaining, but it's also kind of sad.

To my Chinese brothers across the Pacific. First of all: Wuo ai nee. Wo oi ney.

Yes - it's true. I know....you think I'm a racist. But I just tease you. I play joke. I make fun of the nationalism, the big chip on the shoulder attitude....the propensity to call others racist when they disagree with you...your undying YOFness, and the anger and tireless efforts to defame me at all costs. Truly I am impressed by the lengths of our Chinese guests (or to use the politically correct term here - YOF's) have gone to defame me. For me, it's been quite entertaining...and I feel bad for getting so much of a laugh out of it. But really - you have to see how comical it truly is from my standpoint - and know there's no harm intended.

For at the end of the day - we all want Yao to do well. That's our commonality. For the YOF's - they want Yao to do well to bring glory upon the Chinese people. They live through him as a means of showing the west that no - Chinese people are just as good as the west. It's kinda sad, because you'd think the YOF's here would feel that China's rich history would be enough to make them proud - that they don't need a basketball player to do that. But perhaps I don't understand.

Anyway, for me, I want Yao to do well for two reason. One - because it will help the Rockets win. And two - he seems like a good guy. How can anyone really hate Yao? To call someone a Yao hater....is a bit ridiculous actually. It's like calling someone a Mother Teresa hater. No, I'm not so small (well, compared to Yao everyone is small) to hate Yao because he's different. I'm different too after all. (Although Yao should really shave that beard on his neck as it's kinda gross).

Anyway - YOF's - let us unite. I stand behind Yao. If I criticize him, it's because I criticize everyone. I'm a New Yorker - I thought that my name would make it obvious that I just speak my mind....and I call it as I see it with Yao. I am not going to defend him just because I root for him. You see, here - you don't have to do that. It doesn't make you a racist to disagree. Maybe in some other places you can get locked up, but it's ok here.

So let's stop this angry hunt and get back to more important things. Like Yao! Or VSPAN! Or how about them Rockets now 8-4??? Or instead of worrying about defending Yao - why don't you just enjoy the progress he's making. I mean, even if he is averaging 25/10/2, that's a decent jump from last season, and it implies that he's still getting better. So maybe soon he will be averaging 27 or 28/11/2.4. I mean, look at how many articles that are positive on Yao in the media now - all calling him the best center.

Why care if a few guys on ESPN make fun of him for getting blocked by a 5'8" guy. Just say the little guy got lucky and move on. Sometimes it's best just not to worry about things...take it from a new yorker my YOF's! I'll show ya the ropes. We can be fan-mates. Root for the same team....or player! It's all good.

Let's end the nasty little talk. I would love to erase my ignore list...which is basically all YOF's. I want to let yall back into the fold....it's thanksgiving, and I am willing to forgive and forget and I don't even expect an apology.

So how about it - fan-mates? Can I be a Rockets fand Yao fan and you a YOF and can we co-exist?

You know, I posted this thread to give an update of the game, and it got ruined by people who wanted to rip me apart - even if it meant derailing a good thread.

Let's get back on track. No on the BBS cares about the YOF's war with me. It's ruins the board. Out of respect for everyone else, let's stick to Rockets and not individualize things. Who cares about my race???

I find it hypocritical that NewYorker of all people should be saying this considering....

    1) HE is the one who created a thread asking peopple to guess what race he was!!!!

    2) Just a few days ago, he asks, "why do all the Chinese posters hate JVG?"

    Proof:

This is so fascinating. Why are they so compelled to look through what I post and reproduce it here?

I am not sure what to make of it.....on one hand, I think I should be offended...but on the other, it's almost making me feel like I must be very important to them. Like some grave enemy that they must defeat at all costs. And must spread the word about my terrible campaigns.

It's really feeding my narcissistic side. I feel like I really got their goat. Wow...all this time, have they been posting stuff to get back at me? Is it just this thread?

I'm suprised the mods haven't gotten involved. Perhaps everyone is being entertained - this is kinda...fun!

I wonder how long Zboy and GreatMac or whatever will keep it up. We should take bets folks.

I bet they won't last a week - if I am wrong, I'm willing to donate $50 to the tip jar.

This is the kind of passionless approach the people in the corporate seats have for this issue. Either you dislike Yao Ming, or you're a fair-weather fan. Pick one.

You have chickened out and lied to put me on your ignore list. But it's easy to tell you have been reading my posts all along. So are you still using your tiny brain to figure out the answers to my three little questions? I understand those are three really tough questions though....to you :D. Anyway, you said your brain needed 10 hours to analyse three simple numbers. So have you done with your analysis? I am still waiting for your answers...eagerly.

Don't lie again. You were obviously bitter, angry and hurted at various times in the arguments. Anyone with minimal reading skills could see it. Even a 10 years old could see it. It's just too obvious. You are insulting the intelligence of everyone here by denying something so crystal clear. But I have to admit I am having a lot of fun with you. Like I have said, you are just too easy. YOur posts are too easy to pick apart because you don't have a consistence stance due to the flip-floppings. You are the definition of a hypocrite and hypocrites are always easy.

Stop lying pleassssssse. Ignore list my a**. You have never put anyone on your ignore list because you can't reisist the temptation to read the posts. The more you lie, the more you make yourself looks like a clown. Be real to yourself. It's bad enough already that you have been lying in order not to lose in internet arguments. But lying to yourself is the worse.

LMAO. I really think you can be a standup comedian, my friend. Last time I checked, you are the one who would do anything like, including but not limited to, backpedaling, lying, twisting other people's words, in order not to admit a mistake and lose in an internet debate. And your inferiority complex is so acute that you would never give an apology after being proved wrong. You would just lie to put people on your ignore list when your back is against the war and there is no way out. The only one you should forgive is yourself because you were not being real to yourself. Be a man...look into the mirror and then look yourself in the eyes...now...apologize to yourself.

Labelling is your only friend now. You have nothing else to turn to. It's weak but understandable... because you are deseparate and your situation is miserable now.

Kinda like Bush huh - you're are with or against us?

I'm a fan of the game first and foremost. I love basketball as a sport pretty much my entire life - before I was a Rockets fan or any fan.

I think Yao is far more skilled that Shaq. Yao has more moves and clearly works harder at his game. Yao is better defensively as well. But I also appreciate things about the game that are not just captured in stats or box scores. To me, basketball has it's own rhytim, it's own grace. There's a flow and energy. An approach. I think Yao is still learning this. He's slowly getting there - and at his height, grace is hard to acheive. But it's part of the game.

Shaq gets a lot of flak (rhymes!) for his free-throw shooting. But if a white analyst rips Shaq apart for his free-throw shooting and how they make him a liability at the end of games....or how embarrassing it is to watch him shoot ft's....no matter how hard his critics have been (and trust me, he's been made fun of a lot).....no matter how hard, no one has ever called someone a racist over Shaq.

    That's a fact.

Why must it be different for yao? I critique Yao the basketball player, even though I am a fan of Yao as a person, and I root for Yao the Houston Rocket. But Yao the Chinese dude means nothing to me. However, I am not a fan of YOF's.

I can like Yao but not YOF's right?
