V-Span might join Spurs after friendship with Parker

1) JVG's rotations are short and I think JVG plays to favorites in his comfort zone more than most NBA coaches.

2) VSpan totally sucked just about every opportunity he had in the NBA exhibition and on.

3) VSpan himself doesn't sound to confident he is/would be a good NBA player and admits his game is better suited for Europe. (e.g., playing against European level athletes in a league where individual defenders are light-years weaker)

4) The rockets brass didn't seem coordinated at all.

All these things are plausible, maybe even likely true. Looks like a real bad situation for VSpan to come into. But let's not pretend it is even likely he would be a good NBA player in different situations. VSpan himself doesn't seem to be confident of that.

I wish him the best as long as he isn't playing for an NBA rival. The Rockets and he are both in better situations now. Let’s not forget him being adamant about not coming back and wasting our roster dollars helped facilitate the Scola trade.

I've spent basically all day in between classes reading this thread. I chuckled, I laughed, I laughed so hard I almost cried...

I know I'm a huge nerd with no life, but reading this thread today has been the highlight of my week. Nay, my month. Codell, SamFisher, Topfive, B-Bob, SmitingPurpleEm...you are all fantastic. There is some rock-solid comedic gold in here. Just had to give my props.

I just read that too. Such a shame, he was a legendary NBA player.

 

And my "woo" isn't out of hate or ridicule for Spanoulis. It just wouldn't have felt good if he agreed to play for San Antonio and not for us.

See, I read that as he shot 50% from inside the line, and couldn't shoot 3 pters....

Basically, he just didn't fit the system JVG was running....how was Rafer's percentages ? Did he shoot 50% from 2 pt range???

Popovich obviously hates V-SPAN. There is no other conceivable reason that they would release him. The GM obviously recognized the greatness of Billy and even gave up Luis Scola, who could be starting at PF next year for him, but Pop would have none of it. What a terrible coach, not as bad as JVG of course, since he didn't rape Billy's mom and **** in his corn flakes, but still not too smart.
