How many anti-V-Span posters would want to work for a boss that said that kind of **** to you??

LMFAO, yeah it was a greek tragedy, through and through.

I am sure this type of thing had nothing to do with Spanoulis' departure from the NBA:

Isn't that a bit of a leap? Do we know for a fact that they didn't discuss VSpan's role with JVG? It sure seems unlikely to me that their relationship was that dysfunctional.

A more likely scenario is that they DID discuss his role, then he showed up and JVG was absolutely unimpressed, for whatever reason. So he chose not to play the kid, despite what had been discussed.

Codell has presented enough for me to believe that KillBillPana and BballS are the same person. Bexcelant seems to be a different poster. One who agrees with KillBillPana/BBallS on JVG screwing Spanoulis, but not focusing nearly as heavily on how supposedly good the Greek league is.

I wish we could get an IP check on KillBillPana and BballS. Maybe if we asked the SpursReport admin nicely they will give it to us.

Anyway, on the subject of the thread....

You have too much time on your hands but kudos to your work. It read like a really good science fiction mystery novel. If you work a little harder perhaps you can come up with a good conspiracy theory about how Kill Bill is actually Spanoulis and he's using my screenname to defend himself. But wait wait...DDakota is also involved because as the wild card, could he not also have been involved...ahh the plot thickens. BBScientist has obviously gone to great lengths to defend VSpan and post albeit taken great liberties, has made some points here and there. Yes..I visit Spurs talk and that is where I saw the KillBill articles and posted them here. In the end Codell...both you and I know....

    The Butler did it.

yeah. I think it ultimately came down to vspan just not playing well. The conspiracy theorists are just grasping and straws.

with those numbers?! how was he not getting 30 minutes a night.

    the greek hubris is sad.

codell, I don't think BBall Scientist and BEXCELANT are the same person. Clutch would know if the IPs were similar, and I think he would have already stopped by this thread (no doubt wielding his version of a Louisville Slugger in the form of graphs, witty comments, etc.) if said accusation was true. As for the whole Kill Bill Pana thing, you could be on to something, but I doubt we'll ever know.

At any rate, I agree with B-Bob. The V-Span horse has now been grounded into a fine mist. Please... let DaDa and BBall Scientist grieve in peace.

What that PROVES is that Van Gundy instructing Spanoulis to be a spot up shooting two guard rather than a pick and roll running point guard was WRONG.

What that proves is that Spanoulis telling Van Gundy he was being used wrong was RIGHT.

What that proves is that if after that 4/20 performance of using Spanoulis as a spot up shooting two guard wasn't enough to bring Van Gundy into the light, then clearly he is one of, if not the most overrated coach of all time.

That his bball IQ is so low that he could not even grasp something so blatant.

It also proves that since you cannot grasp how obvious this is, that you simply have no clue about what you are talking about in this thread.

You need a shot chart to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt on both sides of this to prove it one way or the other. One piece of paper photographed by a tourist going through the Rockets locker room proves nothing. It's one datapoint for one day and that's all there is to it.

The article PRINTED interview from Spanoulis basically has confirmed everything that was being posted on the Spurs forum.

If Spanoulis talks that badly and laces that many insults at Van Gundy in a press printed interview then you know that he would say things to people he knows off the record just like what is on the Spurs forum.

There were also numerous things in that interview that confirmed talking points on that post that originally popped up on the Spanoulis thread that Clutch closed.

Clutch needs to examine that original post in that thread he closed then examine this interview printed openly.

This is blatantly showing that Sam Fisher must be non other than Van Gundy himself, because he is taking the obvious fact of what happend and distorting it to new levels of double talk.

If Spanoulis and Batiste plays basketball in barns, then Sam, codell and their followers hold seances in their mom's basement.

From now on there should be a strong poinht made by Clutch and the mods here that all the FAKE facts on this forum about Spanoulis and Van Gundy STOP. Anyone using them should be exposed.

That interview basically confirms EVERYTHING that these people deny. Van Gundy was an a-hole that treated Spanoulis like crap. The Rockets lied to him. Van Gundy benched him becaus he didn't "want" him he wasn't "his choice".

Spanoulis was so disgusted by the Rockets he would have nothing to do with them again.

    PERIOD.

If this board wants to keep it's very high rep intact it needs to squash the absolute to paraphrase Sam Fisher "historically unprecedented" levels of BS spewing from his mouth and the other Lord of Van Gundy Spanoulis haters club members.

There is no longer any "specualtion" or no longer any "just Spanoulis nut riders living in fantasy land making stuff up" this is confirmed and because of this Sam codell, A3po, smiting, etc etc we all know who.......

For you warped view of what you call "reality" welcome to

where in your world of fantasy and make believe JVG respected Spanoulis, he treated him fairly and equally, he never ever said anything bad about him or behind his back, he never told him one thing, then said another in the press, he never told him that he would not play him because he was not his "choice" that he knew nothing of his game and didn't care, he never played him out of position, he never went against what management wanted him to do regarding Spanoulis, management never had a different view of Spanoulis than Van Gundy. And of course best of all that anyone stating what was in fact ture, is a crazy "nut rider" that "hugs sacks" because Jeff Van Gundy would NEVER do anything like that and Spanoulis is just mad he had to play ball in a barn

And for your A++ efforts to distort history and turn myth into reality and fact into myth you all win the BS of the year award at Clutchfans.

I am not "anti-VSpan" or "Pro-JVG" but that read a lot more mild than previous rumors made it. JVG was basically saying, "I have never seen you play (didn't scout you, etc.) so I don't know what your role will be/is (Span said JVG said it in the Spring but '06 or '07?)." That is just honest. Then Span said he really didn't get to play much against other players during training/practice so he never got to show JVG his game. That seems a little odd and you can fault JVG for not finding a way to get to know his game, but I don't fault him for the initial honest assessment. Of course, this also debunks the earlier rumor that Span killed everyone in practice.

As for JVG misusing Span...it just happened that Snyder got hurt, Bonzi was useless, and JVG needed a backup 2. Span was the next tallest guy and had already played the "tweener" role in Greece. Further, many times he played he would get the ball at the top of the key to set up the offense so he was basically acting as a PG/playmaker on those plays.

To me this really seems like a complete misunderstanding between two different personalities. JVG is a sarcastic jokester - VSpan takes it seriously and gets sensitive, JVG says VSpan needs to shoot better and SPan thinks he is being asked to be a spot up shooter. Span thought the NBA would be the same as Europe. Even now he says the game wasn't harder which is silly because it was obvious that he had not adjusted to the athleticism of defenders. He had potential but that is out the window.

Why should we believe anything you have to say, BBall Sockpuppeteer? You've invented material, used another account on a different forum to post it as "insider information", and posted it back over here. You have no credibility, seriously.

Do you seriously think an interview from SPANOULIS will be a fair, balanced truth? Do you seriously think that Spanoulis would say anything that would make him look stupid or incompetent? Obviously he's going to blame the Rockets for everything that went wrong. This is even assuming that this interview is accurate, which as we all know now can be a leap of faith.

You are once again wrong, beaker-breath. All that interview confirms is that Spanclueless THINKS Van Gundy was an a-hole that treated Spanoulis like crap.

I have NEVER seen a poster on this board who has poorer ability to look at things in an objective manner. Good thing you're not REALLY a scientist.

I've got a better idea. You should start a SpanFans.net forum! You and your barnyard buddies could spend all day posting about how amazing your guy is and nobody would be there to shove VSpan's actual NBA stats in your face as a rebuttal!

The domain name is available. Go for it!

this dude seems like the husband in denial about his wife cheating, even when he walks in on her getting banged. "oh, hey honey...this is my OBGYN. It was an emergency house call. Come back in 20 minutes".

    "sure thing sweetheart"

So, as a scientist, SURELY you have data to back up your assertions, right? I mean, JVG's .575 career winning percentage and career .500 playoff winning percentage CLEARLY points to a low b-ball IQ, right? And what about making the playoffs 9 out of 11 NBA seasons? Or the fact that JVG has been coaching since 1985? Or the fact that he hails from a freaking family of coaches? All hogwash, right? SURELY, his supposed misuse of ONE player (a rookie, no less) out of ALL the players he's coached in his lifetime points to him having a low basketball IQ.

... Or perhaps we could apply Occam's Razor to this argument, given the preponderance of NBA data points available (not Euroleague, mind you) and simply conclude that V-Span was a sucky, sucky NBA player and did not deserve playing time.

    Hi-larious. Consider yourself exposed then.
