5 minutes of playing time a game is just 2% of all 5 positions total playing time. It's not gonna make or break the Rockets. Let V-Span and Novak each gets 5 minutes a game and learn the game!

I'm glad Vspan proved he won't turnover the ball everytime he touches it. Combine that w/ Snyder's injury he's shown he deserves some steady time off the bench now. Vspan is the future, not the present. But the sooner he can get that experience the better.

Box shows Bill with 2 fouls in 12:30, Rafer with 5 in 35 min.
    1 every 6 min vs 1 every 7 min.

And gee the one foul came on an attempted steal that almost worked and even as a foul shut down a fastbreak.

It was a nice start. The guy has a ways to go and a lot to learn. What's wrong with people enjoying the energy of a guy who can actually play some D and stay in front of an opposing guard? That is a commodity in short supply on this team.

Someone asked why Rafer never takes a charge. I replied: in order to do that you have to be in front of the man you are guarding. KillBill just has the instinct - something that apparently is almost impossible to teach.

I think Rafer should start. And Bill should get some minutes and the whippings from Gundy that come with them, and learn how to contribute to this team.

my fault, I swear last night on Yahoo they had credited him w/3.

The fouling king of last night was a certain Slovenian former Rocket who resumed his hack-prone ways with five PFs in just 9 minutes....

Five minutes is a little over 10% of playing time for any given position or any player. I think the denominator should be 48, not 240 minutes. Otherwise, you can probably give someone, say, 50 minutes to play!

Depends on the perspective. Obviously real time can't be divided by 48*5 into 240 minutes. I was using "time" to quantify total activity of 5 players on the court. Maybe a better way to put it is, 5 minutes of court activities by one player represent 2% of total activities of 5 players, which could be represented as 240 minutes.
