And you are suggesting JL3 get more minutes!! Vspan is NOT tony parker- but he is far better than Rafer in keeping his man in front of him. If there is any damn way we can get Andre Miller in February- I would end this PG disaster. At present we have a bunch of back ups- but V-Span will ALways be ahead of Jl3- no doubts about that one.

I will say this once and i will not repeat it. For those who wish to debate it or disagree with it can do so amongst themselves. Vspan's downward spiral is the direct result of JVG. Jeff Van Dummy detest the fans and the medias love for him. JVG detest CD's overuling him and signing Vspan and he detest Vspan's passion on the court. JVG stated from the get go he would have to do damage control of the media's expectations of Vspan. And that's what he did. He screamed at every errant pass or ill advised shot or missed defensive assignment in spite of the fact that Vspan was playing harder than almost anyone on the court. He never once commended him on some of the toughest defense on the court and he removed him from his best attribute creating. Yes outside of Yao and Tmac, Vspan was or best creator on the team. And Van Gundy took the ball out of his hands. You can argue many things but when Vspan and Head or on the court Vspan should be running the offense. Van gundy would not hear of it. Van Gundy has taken an inspirational player with more heart than any other Rocket and tried to mold him into a robot. And while he has not been completely successful his continual animal treatment on the court has managed to control Vspan to the point where he is afraid to make a mistake. He has dampened his spirits just as he said he would. For he hates rookies and he especially hates rookies who he did not request. Vspan was not his choice and will never win favor with him. That being said under the circumstances Vspan not playing is the best thing that can happen for him. With Bonzi on the team and Snyder returning and Tmac back Vspan is now 5th string 2 guard and surely bench fodder for the remaining season. ANd forget about PG his true position, Van gundy would not allow it. My only hope is that he is allowed the opportunity to play in the developmental league and showcase his talent more than he will ever be afforded him under Van r****d. And in the end Vspan will be heard for this is the same Man who made Chris paul and Hinrich look like boys in the world championships and this is the man who will one day help point the Rockets to a championship.

I agree 100% with old man rock. JVG is r****ded not to let vspan or novak play. novak is a damn sharp shooter and his specialty can be a potential dagger in crucial games.. Because DAMN Gundy doesn't let him play much games he's not going to be comfortable doing what he does best which is shoot long range shots and hit 3's
JVG did compliment Vspan on his defensive play against Gilbert Arenas. I think the combination of this being a low post offence and JVG not liking rookies hurt Vspan's playing time this year. Vspan has had some trouble finishing around the basket as well this year. JVG said that he has enough to win with, so if he doesn't he has dug his own grave.

OMR really cracked me up. Gee, didnt see this was coming after Vspan sucked major ball despite JVG trusted him with 15+ minute PT. Van r****ded, Van Dummy, how about OMG, G being grumpy. Vspan will get another stab at it before the season is over. If he continues to be Boki Jr, he is not going to get any PT. To me at his point of their respective careers, Boki was better than Vspan, and what happened to Boki. I hope Vspan will to turn a Ginobilli lite for us, but at this point not likely. I think the NBA 3pt line really affects him, not only in terms of shooting, but also he has to drive a little longer.
If u know anything about basketblal u know VSPAN sucks, and when I say sucks I mean that he's not ready to play at the NBA level. Yes he has potential, but the kid can't play for jack**** as of now. He's a turnover machine and still plays Euro ball. The rockets aren't a team that's about to develop a future player, they're trying to win right now. As much as I hate Rafer, VSPAN is worse. I feel bad for VSPAN for being in such a situation, if he was on a team looking towards the future, he might be a pretty good player by the end of this season. We don't have time to develop VSPAN right now not only because we're trying to win, but also because every damn game we play is close. Even if the game's a blow out by the 4th, you don't know with the rockets until the final buzzer goes off. Furthermore, if we play VSPAN right now and takes him out when he's sucking, it's hard on the kid's confidence and could permanently damage it. At this point I don't blame JVG for what he's doing with VSPAN.

he needs to develop a shot...but i agree we need to try something else, vspan plays harder defence and brings some energy to the floor i get very sick of van dummy not playing rooks, he needs to put young players in big losses and big wins......but instead he puts in padgett who we all know is as good as he is gonna get (which is not very good). oh well with the way the season is going right now jvg will be outa here next season.....one to late if you ask me.
I'm not as down on Spanoulis as lot of other people here. He has a cruddy jumper, but that should improve. Same with his decision making. He just has to get used to the pace of the game. He has two strengths that could really help the team. He's a pretty good penetrator, and he's shown decent ability to finish around the basket. And I think he's easily our best PG defender -- Alston, Luther, and Lucas are just terrible defensively. I'd like him to be added back to the regular rotation.
You think NBDL is going to help him? Playing in highschool gym is going to help him? If he is man enough, instead of being a timid church mouse, he needs to do it in the NBA, practice with NBA players, adjust with NBA players for his own sake. As far as Rockets concerns, having him on the pine as an insurance is not wasting.

Agreed. Right about now I'd give him at least a few of Rafer's minutes for some games just to see how he does. If he bombs out again, slide him back next to Novak. Sooner or later, I'd like to think he will contribute again this season. He showed some good flashes before tanking out. Watching Tinsley abuse Rafer was tough.
Spanoulis need playing time! I don't understand why he doesn't play. He is really good player and he deserves to play at least 10 min.
