Good job rookie. You just made me a lot more comfortable that our defense is going to sustain it's brilliance under Adelman.

Obviously Yao should think team-first and not turn into TO. Adelman knows how good he is, and nowadays he commands much more respect among his teammates because he has shown the ability to dominate a game and serve as the team's primary scorer. I think he will continue to get plenty of touches even if plays are not always fed to the team from the bench.

However, let's not kid ourselves about media perception. Let's say take 2 years ago. We went 51-31, finished with the 5th seed, Yao averaged 18/8.4/2. Those are reasonable numbers, and the Rockets did fine but the media mercilessly bashed Yao all season for being a horrible bust. If we win 65 games and Yao averages say 15 ppg, the media will mercilessly call Yao a bust and a big Chinese stiff. The American media hates Yao and will find any excuse to pick on him.

Of course Yao doesn't care about that and will do whatever to make his team win, which is the right thing to do.

Nice read, although what do you really expect him to say? It's not like he's going to diss his old coach or Yao for no reason.

Somewhat off topic but I just read that the Pistons are unlikely to re-sign Webber. I wonder how long before people are suggesting a Webber/RA reunion in Houston?

Let me explain what I meant earlier when I said I don't care if the Rockets "win".

By win, I mean regular season games. Of course, that doesn't apply in the playoffs.

If Yao averaged 13 points, yet the Rockets win the championship, of course I'd be ecstatic.

Last season, when Yao was out, T-Mac and the Rockets went on a winning season, remember? And everyone said how T-Mac carried the season..

Regular season wins are meaningless. Everything is about winning in the post season.

I know that if the Rockets are going to win the playoffs, and the championships, Yao has to be an integral part of the offense. He has to be the goto guy. Without a dominant low post player, Rockets are going nowhere.

This argument is all moot anyway. I am certain that Yao MIng will get his points, and will be a major part of the offense. I just hope that T-Mac doesn't forget how important Yao is, and doesn't go Me-Mac on everyone.

    That was my point.

So would I accept a 13point average if the Rockets win all the way? Absolutely.

    Will that ever happen? Never.

    Does that answer your question?

And yeah, I am a Yao fan first, and then a Rockets fan. That doesn't mean I am a lesser Rockets fan. I want Yao to win, and also the Rockets to win. I think both are synonymous. If Yao plays well as he can, Rockets win, and vice versa. If Yao does not play well, then neither will the Rockets win.

but that yr, yao got in foul trouble almost every game, his stamina was horrible... so those stats for the minutes played were pretty good.

if yao stays on the floor, he'll get his stats.

but what will get yao to another level if his defensive dominance. most great centers are also dominant defensive centers.

i want teams to talk about how fearful they are of taking the ball to the rack b/c yao is there. the same way deke is talked about.

stop backtracking. i think if yao averages 50 pts and we go 0-82 and win the #1 pick, u'dbe ecstatic b/c yao would be the #1 scorer in the HISTORY of hte league.

YOF's ruin good threads. I don't care if Yao averages 10 points a game and T-Mac averages 10 points a game, as long as we win the championship. I have grown to like both players and want them to succeed, but the championship is what matters. I liked the Franchise when he was here and wanted him to lead us to a championship and win the MVP. I was disappointed to see him leave Houston. Though, if trading him meant we were closer to championship than that's what mattered. I still want him to succeed and hopefully play in Houston. It's the same with T-Mac and Yao, I really like them and want them to be Hall of Farmer's, but bringing a championship to Houston is the #1 goal.

Suddenly, you start backtracking and change your tone in this post. What you wrote earlier was a disgrace and embarrassment to Yao fans. If Yao read what YOU wrote, I am sure he would puke on his keyboard. You are not worthy of being a Yao fan. If you couldn't appreciate Yao's unselfishness and character, maybe you shouldn't be a Yao fan. If you wanted Yao to average 30/15/5 or something, go play some Nba 2k7 or Nba live.

The facts of the matter are this:

IF YAO IS AVERAGING 13 PPG, WE ARE A MEDIOCRE NONCONTENDER!

When are you going to figure out that Yao is the Rockets?

Yes, I know what your saying, but there is a difference in the way you word it compare to yao_fan_2007. Your intention is for the rockets to win, and that wont happen if Yao avgs 13ppg. I understand that, and I agree with you. For yao_fan_2007, he simply wanted Yao to avg 25+ ppg REGARDLESS of rockets winning or losing. He made that pt CLEARLY in his earlier posts.

not really, if yao become bill russell-like.

averaging 14-15 pts, get 16-17 rebounds, block 4-5 shots, he'll we'll be the best team in the L.

And since when has trace been a me magic as a rocket?. tracy is widely regarded as the mot unselfish superstar in the game. along with yao and couple of other unselfish players. yao only fan should stop posting since he is disgracing himself after every post.

You KNOW, I WANNA SEE Tracy McGrady avge 20 points, Yao avge 22, james 15, rafer 12, new PF we get 14,an a couple of 10 point bench players. i wanna see a more blanced and deeper team. the more depth you got the better. instead of what we've had rescently.

Who's backtracking? I was clarifying my earlier comments.

I re-stated that I am a Yao fan first, and then a Houston fan, right? So who's backtracking?

Let's say that if Yao was traded to Los Angeles Lakers, then I'd say good bye to houston, hello L.A. And I think most Yao only fans would do the same. Sorry but before Yao was drafted by the Rockets, I was not a fan of the Rockets. But through Yao, I became a fan of the Rockets, and interested in their city, and history. And I grew to appreciate the Houston Rockets.
