Why do people make statements like this? A new coach? Are you flipping serious?

Briles has done more with less and in a shorter amount of time than anybody ever could..

Yeoman didn't do jack doodle squat his first 4 years with UH, then went on to become a hall of famer.

Seriously, get a grip.. if you think BRILES is bad you have NO idea what things were like under the Helton and Dimel years.

Considering the last three games, is it still a prediction if I say that a terrible call will cost us the game?

I know very well about the Dimel years. 0-11 was painful, but we also played a much harder schedule then. Simply put Briles is not getting it done. If you are content having a mediocre team that plays a VERY WEAK schedule then that is fine for you, but not me. Briles has not done more with less, how can you say that? Next year will be even worse when Briles has to adjust to a new QB. Are you content with the Rockets going 41-41? I am not and the same goes for my college team. We live in Houston and the university should be more committed to having a winning program than they are currently. I hope he is able to turn this year around, but with the schedule we play I was fully expecting a 10-2 season and already with 3 losses especially to 2 teams we should have clearly beat I am upset. We lost to freaking LALA! I have waited for a very long time for my team to have a very good year and this was our best chance.

How about we build up a 21 point lead and then we abandon the run and keep our d on the field all game and lose another embarrasing game.

Briles is a good guy and overall good for the UH but as far as a in game coach he has been poor at best IMHO

Briles is overrated. UH plays in the weakest division in a weak conference. There are four private schools and one public school off in no man's land. With talent in the Houston area alone, there is no excuse why UH shouldn't be playing for the C-USA title regularly. UH won't though cause of Briles. It's going to take a Vince Young to get over the choke. Kevin Kolb couldn't do it. If you want to see a good head coach look to Rice Institute's Todd Graham. I don't think UH should fire Briles cause Fort Worth, New Orleans, and Hawaii Bowls are better than nothing.

Taking a program that was on death's door to 3 bowl games (assuming we go this year, which is more likely than not) in 4 years is a pretty damn good accomplishment.

Grooming a heisman caliber QB in your first tenure is nothing short of amazing.

If you're willing to can a coach for performing at a .500 clip after nearly a decade of utter athletic futility, I hope to god you never have Dave Maggard's job.

Briles and the team paid their dues playing a rough OOC schedule since 2003, they earned the easy schedule this year, and if you had paid attention to the games, you'd know that we should easily be 5-2, if not even 6-1. Sometimes the ball bounces the wrong way.

ULL was an obvious trap game. We have zero lateral speed, never have. We defend the option poorly, always have. I'm not upset by the loss. I'm upset that people point to a loss like that and say "fire briles". I'm seriously tired of idiots who think that canning Briles is going to do anything except keep the coaching carousel spinning that sent this program into the dumper in the first place.

I see progress. Briles will be here for a long time, better get used to it.

    Weakest divison eh?

Did I miss something? Is UCF tearing it up? Is Marshall cranking out first round picks still? Did Memphis recruit another DeAngelo Williams?

Southern Miss is the bell cow of that basically one horse division.

Tulsa, UTEP, and UH are three teams capable of beating USM, as Tulsa already did soundly, and UH, if not for a totally blown fumble call, would have already as well.

When you're getting 1.7 yards a carry you tend to try a different route, and with your best player being your quarterback I'd have confidence in him being able to move the ball.

The loss was on the defense's inability to defend the perimeter run. As most of our losses are.

    Wanna blame somebody?

Blame Alan Weddell. But then again, he is the new DC, so he hasn't had a chance to bring his own kids in yet. He's basically playing cards with the deck Briles got his first year in the program. It's not going to be the best front 7 you'll see under Briles' tenure.

KK overrated? 20-30 208 yards 2 TD and 54 yards rushing to become just the 10th player in NCAA Division I-A history to compile more than 12,000 career yards. Kolb for Heisman makes more sense than Carr for Pro Bowl.
