We struggle against good point guards, Matt Harpring always seems play good against us, I want to see how the Rox defend against Okur and their pick and roll. I just don't think it will be a 10 point difference in 5 games type of series, thats all. But again, I want to see our last 2 regular season games against them, those will say alot.

i think some here worry too much about jazz strength. Instead we should force them to adjust.

let's say boozer go 25/12, that's fine as long as yao can go 30/15, Okur makes 5 3pts, but we can have battier make the same ammount. Williams gets 20 pts, and we can have tmac get 30.

In some cases, we cannot win with only defense, all we need to do is to score more.

Same with playing the suns, every time we met them, we spent all our energy on how to slow/stop them, and forgot our own style.

If Okur sticks 5 treys alongs some 2p's, we are in a deep hole. No, that can not happen. Okur needs to be contained and he is containable.
Boozer is non-containable IMO, he will get his. Deron is inconsistent. So if we play solid D, we can beat them.
Now, their scrubs are pretty good. Milsap, Harpring, Grichick, etc, better than ours possibly. We cannot afford let fisher go off either. He will probably in one or two games.

I think Sloan will shorten his rotation with Fisher playing mostly point, and Harpring backing up the swing spots:

    Williams/Fisher
    Giricek/Harpring/Fisher
    AK/Harpring
    Boozer/Millsap
    Okur/Collins and Araujo (for fouls)

Y'all are talking like Hayes will play a ton of minutes. Really? At Howard's expense? Also, Bonzi could indeed be the wild card to counter Harpring, but will he even be in the rotation?

Regardless, it should be a great series. Jazz have big advantage at PG and PF and Rox have big advantage at SG and C. Could come down to Battier vs. AK. Benches, coaches and intangibles are to me all even. If the Jazz beat Houston on the last day of the season to get home court, they'll just give it right back. There's no way they could win 3 in a row, even in S.L.C.

2nd game of the season, trust me in a 7 game series will be very close and in there favor, but we can compete with them.

    1) Will JVG play Bonzi at all?

    2) I do think it will be between Battier and AK, as well as Harpring and T-Mac

    3) Yao will either be two things in this series, a) have his handsful with two good rebounders and long-range shooters or b)Completely dominate the series, he has played against shooting big men before, but the thing is if a player moves away from the basket can they score consistently on him and just let him sit in the paint. Offensively, it would be a disappointment if Yao averages less 27 ppg, because no one on their team can slow him down defensively unless the front him and play the passing lanes.

especially they got 0.4sec derek fisher. Probably their most reliable option when game is on the line in the 4th quarter with 1 min left

utah is a GOOD team. there is no way we'll win 4 games to 1. it'll be 6 games at the very least with hopefully us coming on top.
