http://espn.go.com/blog/marc-stein/post/_/id/2156/jazz-eye-italian-legend-messina-for-coaching-gig Don't know much about him, but he probably has high bball IQ and a good skill level. Not sure if he has the athleticism to coach good NBA defense, though.
As a Utes fan, I would LMFAO if the Jazz hired Boylen. That POS ruined our program and it's taken 4 years to get back to some sort of success because of him. I'm not sure I'd even wish him on Jazz fans. Messina would be an interesting hire though.
Ettore Messina truly is an Italian legend and I'd be very happy to see him as an NBA head coach. He worked as a Lakers assistant for one year, so he already has some experience in the NBA. The only thing that could stop him and other international coaches from succeeding here is their intensity, high-demanding trainings and a strong desire to win each and every game. They don't mess around. No pun intended.
I've heard reporters in Europe talk about how his tenure under Mike Brown actually made his coaching skills regress. In a head coaching position though, it could be interesting. I'm not sure how much head coaches make in the NBA, but CSKA has money to throw around and they're doing pretty well for themselves so far.
