As an Aggie Grad in San Diego I was really rooting for Cal to make the BCS, but I guess its better for the Ags to make the Cotton bowl. It would have been fun to see them play again since its been quite awhile. I guess I'll have to wait till next years TU game Congrats to Texas .. Its great that 2 Big 12 schools will be represented.
Already had plans for Vegas on New Year's, that have changed slightly. Now we're driving from Vegas early in the morning on New Year's Day, and heading down to Pasadena. Put in my ticket order a little while ago. This is going to be a blast!
Wow, the Big 12 certainly got some respect this year! Now it's up to the teams to prove their worth. And Cal should win, but they better not underestimate the Tech (wow!) Nice li'l poll http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/polling?event_id=1029
Who? Michigan? How do you figure? They won the Big Ten and had the tiebreaker over Iowa by beating them head to head. I think Texas and Cal both have better teams than Michigan, but UM did what they needed to do to get to the BCS (won their conference). It's not like they're Pitt.
man, what a weekend of football. UT makes the Rose Bowl. the only d-1AA team i care about, shsu, wins their playoff game to make it to the semis. and my Westfield Mustangs are in the state finals. solid.
They really looked good the other night. It seems like they have a lot of juniors at skill positions, too.
Technically they did what they should, but that's why the BCS is crap. A team that choked against two weak teams (ND & OSU) does NOT belong in the BCS. The Big10 is crap this year.
The big conspiracy theory now is this: The BCS can weather a Cal getting jobbed, or even the occasional 3 undefeated teams. What it can't weather is having financially rich & politically powerful schools like UT get shafted & have it, along with other schools that have increasingly been railing against the BCS, start moving towards killing the system. So the theory is that despite being behind Cal in both human polls, the computer poll was "massaged" to pull UT ahead. That's what the rumors & conspiracies theories are anyway. I like seeing UT in it, but I can see them doing this as well. I never understood why we couldnt keep the BCS system in a playoff series. Each bowl being part of the quarter, semi, etc playoff games, and then rotate the final game among the big bowls the way the BCS is done now...
