I understand the rules. It's just seems early. Maybe they could have done 2-3 numbers per season instead of chunking in 9 guys the same year. Just my 2 cents. Not a big deal.
I'm a big KD fan. He was one of the best college players ever and he only played one year. What does a guy need to do? Play 4 years? What year is this?
Anyone who says "this is a little premature" from now on in the thread has failed to read what others have said. It's being retired because Durant met an official requirement. He won the Naismith Award. That's automatic jersey retirement, under the rules. Now if you want to, argue about that rule being dumb. It makes sense to me, but I'd respect your opinion if it differed, in that case.
