Before Fran got to A&M: 2000: 7-5 2001: 8-4 2002: 6-6 Total: 21-15 Texas A&M's record under Fran: 2003: 4-8 2004: 7-5 2005: 5-6 Total = 16-19 Texas' record under Mack Total = 83-19 That, my friends, is ownage.
Serious question for IC2000- How much longer does Franchione have? I bet A&M alumn want to kill this guy. I mean, the year ya'll get ranked again and have the possibility of turning the program back around, Franc blows it.
This is it, everyone wanted him fired but the team played decent the last two games (granted both losses). I want him gone now, but he is getting one more year. The talent is there, it just seems like the coaching is pathetic.
here ya go. http://www.statesman.com/horns/content/sports/stories/recruiting/01/14recruit.html LONGHORNS RECRUITING California DBs looking at Longhorns By Alan Trubow AMERICAN-STATESMAN STAFF Saturday, January 14, 2006 Texas' 2006 recruiting class, already heralded as one of Coach Mack Brown's best, may get even stronger. Two high school defensive backs from California have added the Horns to the list of colleges they're considering. Venice High's Jonas Mouton and Rancho Cucamonga's Devin Ross — both ranked among the nation's top 100 recruits by Rivals.com — are talking to UT coaches, their high school coaches said Friday. Mouton — at 6 feet, 2 inches and 212 pounds — is ranked as the nation's 43rd-best high school prospect by Rivals.com; Ross (5-11, 189) is ranked No. 89. "Devon talked to one of the Texas assistant coaches right after the Rose Bowl. I mean about five minutes after the Rose Bowl," said Chris Van Duin, Ross' high school coach. "I don't think they've offered him yet, but it sure sounded like they were going to offer him and they were trying to get him down for a visit." Ross showed tight coverage in last week's U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. Mouton's coach, Chris Gasca, said Mouton might be visiting Texas next weekend. "Texas has not offered Jonas a scholarship yet, but they've offered him an opportunity to take an official visit," Gasca said. "I think if he takes that official visit that he's going to get a scholarship offer." Mouton may have interest in Texas, said Gasca, who added that the player has family who live in Austin. Mouton has made visits to Louisiana State, Michigan, Nebraska and Southern California; Ross has made visits to Arizona, Oregon and Nebraska. Texas has 25 verbal commitments for its recruiting class, including four defensive backs. National Signing Day is Feb. 1
What kind of record does he need to have to save his job. With Reggie and Courtney gone, he won't have too much to work with.
It might be more of his staff, his specialty has been offense. Our offense is fine. By the way Michael Goodson is an Aggie. I am ready for everyone to start bad mouthing him just like Martellus
Actually the Aggies are putting together a nice offense. McGee + Martellus + Goodson might just be the best QB, TE and RB in the state not only next year, but for the next 3 years...
Sam there are no contracts out there on these subjects. Perhaps you can serve as market maker, if you still have the necessary funds available.
Look where having Heisman winning QBs and RBs got USC. And I think Jamaal Charles may just disagree. Here's a little tidbit to take worth a grain of salt. I saw Jonas Mouton some this weekend. He was hanging out with Jamaal Charles and Aaron Ross. Mouton certainly knew how to do the Hook 'Em Horns hand sign.
Yeah of the three positions Charles might be better than Goodson, provided Jamal can stay healthy, which isn't a given. Goodson is a player, though.
Which skill position set would you rather have: A&M: McGee, Jorvorskie Lane, Michael Goodson, Martellus Bennett UT: Snead(?)/McCoy(?), Charles, Selvin Young, Sweed/Pittman Tech: Harrell, Batch(?), Filani/Hicks/Johnson You could actually make the case for Texas Tech having the best skill position players next season. Their receiving trio is awesome, and Graham Harrell is going to be an incredible QB in Tech's system. UT probably has the best player in Charles, but he is not an every down back and is injury prone, judging by last season. Barron Batch is a Tech recruit that is possibly the next Taurean Henderson. Snead and McCoy are going to need time to adjust to the D-1 level. Neither have taken a single snap in a game. We saw how Bomar struggled early this season -- and he was a 5-star who had redshirted. Snead and McCoy are lesser recruits, and Snead will be experiencing D-1 games for the first time.
