This sucks That cornerback is going to be hazed and ridiculed for the rest of the season...he blew a few plays in this drive and others.
You're a bigger man than me. Now for Katy and the Rockets to take care of business today with the Texans pulling it off tomorrow!!!
Hey T-sip . . . u not Beating A&M SOOOO . . .You guys DO remember the ALAMO [bowl] doncha Rocket River nothing like good natured ribbing and school rivalry
un-friggin-believable. i've never seen a 4th and 18 like that get picked up running. when he took off i thought the game was over and then the little orange marker showed up on the sideline and i couldn't believe he made it. honestly, i thought that was the marker for the original line of scrimmage but apparently not. that was the shortest 18 years i've ever seen. and that last pass was amazing. and what a catch. the defender had his arm in there and all over the ball but tony held on. this UT team has made these last two weeks interesting and fun as hell at the end so i guess that's something. seeing young get that 4th and 18 for UT haters must've been like me watching ohio state these last few years when they make every play possible to pull it out. the cuff was high and so was confidence.
Can someone explain why we don't get the Big 12 games on ABC in HD...? I'm watching Auburn-Georgia because it looks so ****ing impressive in HD, but I'm much more interested in the big rivalry game between Texas Tech and Texas A&M.
so how did peterson have 23 yds through 3 quarters against ku? benson had 150 some time in the 3rd and would've racked up a lot more if the damn defense could've stopped them or special teams hadn't set the D up for failure over and over. pathetic. but what an amazing performance by young after those 2 int's to pu the team on his back and take the game over. his ability to run is finally looking like it did last year. that 4th and 18 and that TD run were amazing.
Feel free to bring this thread up when Mack plays in a BCS bowl game and/or wins the Big 12. I'll eat my crow.
Obviously, even as a huge Texas fan I'd be the first to say that they are overrated. However, they are extremely resiliant, and I can't believe so many people proclaimed the game over with 8 minutes left. I wanted to myself, but last week was enough of a reminder to stick with it, no matter how PISSED OFF I was at this game. This was the most frustrating game ever to watch, but worth sticking around for. I still don't know what to make of Vince, but props to him for going balls out, tucking the ball in and running for that first down on 4th and 18. Wow. Once again, I'll take the W, but unfortunately it cost me about 6 years of my life. Whew....now I can actually hang around to watch the UGA-Auburn game, rather than feeling like breaking s**t!
i'm not sure if it'll still be there but on the SI.com cfb page they have a caption from the game saying Texas drops to 8-2. solid. damn these last two games have been crazy.
Screen capped it. If I can find someplace to host it, I'll put it up so we can all have a good laugh.
when we play like we did for most of this game. we are. when we play like we did last game in the 2nd half, we're underrated. when we play like we did to end this game, we're about where we're should be. as much as i sometimes think we are overrated, we're a one loss team with a loss to the #2 team in the country and we've played something like that 16th toughest schedule so far. i'd say we're about right where we should be right now. the computers pretty much agree with the pollsters so it's a pretty consistent top 6 ranking for us. still when you've got the special teams drilling you in the ass all day you can look bad. i mean has anyone ever done worse returning kicks than brown? he got to the 12 twice. he basically just jogged out of the endzone and then the blocking was terrible. result, 12 yard line. we lost yards to punts and penalties all day. i think greg davis did a bad job as well but we did have about 550 yards of offense. if we hadn't started from the 12 all day maybe we'd have had more points. can't ****ing believe we only had 13 points for so long and almost lost to this team. and can't believe benson's stats could've looked so good and then just basically stopped b/c we had to throw after a while. this could've been a solid 200+ day to get him more heisman talk and at least ensure getting invited to NYC. dammit.
did anyone just see the end of the boise st. game? sjsu has 4th and goal at the 5 and are down 7 in OT #2. so they line up with 9 blockers and then the qb rolls out. and when it seems like he was no where to go with it, he just goes out of bounds at the 5 and lets the game end. he didn't try to throw it into the endzone or anything. the entire game comes down to this play and he just goes out of bounds like it's nothing. boise st. didn't even act like the game was over. he went out and they just kinda looked at each other for a while then walked over to the sideline and off the field. most anti-climactic finish to a game (and a 56-49 game at that) ever. didn't even try to win it, i can't believe it. what goes through your head on a play like that?
