Not sure why some of you engage in this garbage. It's the same for those that constantly respond in basso, bigtex, and Traitor threads in the D&D. It gets you nowhere. What's that saying about arguing with an idiot?
I was about to respond, listing all the ways that UT-Austin and Austin the city are superior to Tennessee. But then I came to my senses, realizing that this thread was started by Ronny. There are reasons (aside from jobs) why Austin is one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the country.
I lived in Austin for a short while, and didn't really care for it (and didn't go to UT obviously) But this thread is a sad and desperate grab for attention. This post really took it into overdrive: Even if you just barfed out this nonsense in 45 seconds, that is some of the worst spent 45 seconds in internet history
Austin is a nice city. One of the nicest in Texas. Still, to be fair, UT alumni do tend to overrate Austin quite a bit. And don't get me started on San Francisco..
Lol, San Fran is fun but I do prefer places where col is high and beaches nearby. closest Euro comparison is Berlin, ppl are always on a high. One of the reasons Austin rubbed me the wrong way was the extreme segregation like it was 1960. Brothas are pushed to one side of the interstate and made to feel uncomfortable in affluent areas, no matter how dignified they are. http://texashousers.net/2008/07/01/austin-is-blind-to-problems-of-race-and-poverty/ I feel like peanut gallery is trying to say something, but all I see are tears? Lol, attacking the messenger only makes it funnier for me and my entourage, who are having a hearty laugh at the state of denial.
You actually have an entourage? So laughable - Please, just go to Knoxville... Both cities are ok but you are not really looking for advice, are you?
Austin is a nice city. But saying nicest in Texas isn't really saying much at all.
It is quite overrated indeed. Gimme da mountains any day
Who is going to ACL? I missed the official sales but I'm looking at craigslist. Anything that is offered at $250 goes quickly. Would love to see Weezer but the whole weekend looks great.
