Huh. I figured he'd stay because he'd make more money at UT next year than in the NBA...

Im glad he is going pro. Yes he will need to get some Lbs. on him and also needs to work on that jump shot, but Im sure he knows this and will work on it. The time to go Pro is now. His stock is up and right now he can make alot of money. For all you babies crying about he promised this and he promised that.....get over it. He made the decision and was thinking about his future. Good Luck T.J.

I wasn't too worked up over him 'lying'. He's a kid, what do you expect? I'm looking forward to the UT basketball bandwagon emptying anyway. Not that it was ever that full to begin with.

I think this is simply a statistical problem with the term 110% (sic). Mathematically, Ford was essentially saying:

"The likelihood that I will stay in college surpasses absolute certainty. In fact, a future outcome in which I stay in college is impossible to describe with traditional approaches to statistical probability. Some would say that my declaration has, in some sense, violated the boundary conditions of your question about my future. I have rendered your question meaningless with an answer of 110%. I may as well have said -37% or 10^(30)*cosh(NBA salary) to you. .... boo-yah!"

Clearly, this boy has become enough of a smarty pants already. He needs no more college learnin.

we will eventually get over it, but why should we not be at least a little ticked. he basically hyped us up about an amazing year next year and now that's gone. and what's with oh he promised this and that, but he was thinking about himself, get over it. oh well good, i guess we should all just break promises and then just say, oh well i say thinking about myself when i lied so it's no prob, right.

i'll root for tj like none of this ever happened once he actually starts playing in the nba (he did give us a Final 4 run afterall) but i'll still reserve the right to be ticked for a while about being straight up lied to about him coming back next year. there's always the, i'm not answering those questions at this time or i'm unsure rout.

Hypnotist : You are all very good players.
Everyone : We are all very good players.
Hypnotist : You will beat Shelbyville.
Everyone : We will beat Shelbyville.
Hypnotist : You will give 110%.
Everyone : That's impossible. No one can give more than 100%.

TJ should have watched the Simpsons more often.

Can anyone make a strong argument for Ford to pass on guaranteed millions and stay in school? I really wish there was one because I think both the NCAA and the NBA need that ... I just don't see one anymore.

Uh, TJ needs to develop a shot before going pro.

There are many players that are more NBA ready than TJ as of now.

But he can develop that in the NBA too - and he'll make a couple of million dollars doing it.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a good argument. I don't like players coming out early, but on an individual level, there's no good reason to tell a player who will get drafted high to wait.

The same could be said of Kwame Brown and Eddie Griffin.

Sure, they can still develop their games. But, when Kwame's contract expires and its time for him to sign another one, how much will he actually get paid? Not much.

Now, had he developed his game in college, he would still have probably been a top pick in the draft. Thus, the millions would be there, and at the same time, the following contract would also be more luxurious.

God, I hope he doesn't end up a Cavalier.

Fare thee well TJ. We went to the Final Four, and that was pretty ****ing cool.

Now go get those deserved millions.

James, Darko, and Anthony can shoot much, much better than Ford. In fact, I would bet that most of the guards and forwards drafted in the 1st round are better shooters than Ford. Its not even close. If Ford doesnt develop a shot, he will ride the pine for his career. As of now, he is a backup point guard in the NBA.

Of course, none of them can pass, or handle the ball, or run an offense like TJ can - which is why he'll got top 5 as a short point guard.

    Just not to the Cavs.

    Or the Clippers.

TJ could step in and start for all but about oh, 6 or 7 teams in the NBA.
