Arch was awful but it’s difficult for any of us to imagine wearing the hype he has. I haven’t seen anything like it in college football before. What an incredible amount of pressure.
Meh. Manning is going to be good, but he is obviously overhyped because of his name. He's not going to win the Heisman, but he's going to be a very good quarterback and Texas is going to win a lot of games. I HATE Texas, but there's no real reason for them to be concerned. By the end of the season this game will be an afterthought. Texas is going to be just fine, and so will Arch Manning.
When has Sark won a big game?Manning was the 2nd best QB on the field today. Now we know why Ewers was the starter last year.
One good thing from this is Paul Bingbong, the longtime SEC shill on ESPN, will have to eat his words hyping Arch to the moon.
This wasn’t pressure. This was just being inexperienced. First game. Road game. Tough opponent. Simple Truth. Nobody makes the Jump the first time in the matrix.
ESPN and sports media is so in bed with gambling that the journalism aspect is gone. I am now really dubious about the evaluation most TV commentators have about college players like Manning. How could they have such strong opinions with so little to base them on?
I honestly don't like what I sa out of Arch. He was gunning everything and didn't seem to have any touch whatsoever. I watched Underwood and he was actually polar opposite. Reality might be he just isn't that good. Bright side is outside of a few stupid penalties ( the one that cost us a safety really hurt) the defense played well
It really wasn’t a bad game for a team that lost so many starters to the draft, especially in the season opener against the defending national champions. Nobody likes a loss, but it is pretty satisfying to see the Manning stans who could not appreciate how talented Ewers was last year finally quiet down. The kid will probably be fine. We just need those easy games to figure things out.
There was a graphic during the game showing that between the 2 teams they had 26 players (iirc 14 UT, 12 OSU or I may have that backwards) picked in this past draft. UT interior DL and OL were big question marks coming into the game, and I thought both played quite well.
Plus Matt Patricia out coached Sark and had Manning confused. Despite all of this, if the Horns could pickup GL, short yardage situations they probably still would have won the game. Honestly the Sayin kid impressed me more than Manning
