I thought it was but could see why they didn't call it You could make an argument the QB was never actually down and got the ball away.
That missed sack was huge, as was the missed PI in the endzone in the first quarter and the missed Face mask in the 4th.... UT Would have won with Ewers or a healthy Card......tough game.... RE: Safety - it wasn't.....he wasn't down when he threw the ball away and it hit a UT player so no intentional grounding allowed. DD
It would've been grounding. No receiver near, ball didn't make it out of the end zone. Other missed calls include the facemask in the 4th to give us 1st and goal on the 4, instead we were 2nd and 5 and settled for a FG. Also the missed PI on Worthy in the end one in the first quarter. Also other PI in the 2nd quarter. What else? Every call went Bama's way. Awfully officiated game.
Disappointing loss but strong performance. I’m more hopeful about the rest of the season than I was before the game. Let’s go.
Ball rolled out of the end zone, so therefore, it didn't clear the line of scrimmage, making it grounding, and still a safety.
Seemed like everytime it was 3rd and short , questionable playcalling doomed them... 7-5 season comin... But that was a great headstart for UT going into their We Back '23 season...
The extra red zone downs on two drives could've given us another 4 points if we converted one. Then add in the safety. Worthy dropping a TD early cost us 4, and the missed FG to end the half. Lots of points left on the field, half due to ref blunders. In a one point game, that's huge.
Again, the refs did 4 things wrong on that play. And gave Bama 4 plays of other no-calls. Fun game though. Funner than I expected. Gary Patterson is just a bit >>>>>> than Bill O'Brien.
Sark in denial... If it were a 5th qtr, they would've got rolled.. Defense played lights out but Young was figuring it out ... This was on him , his situational playcalling stunk... And why the hell was there even a long extended QB battle in the 1st place? Ewers is clearly better
