This is like the Spurs, Raptors and Clippers all employing that one dude who is Kawhi’s best friend. Means to an end.
Cutcliff coached both Eli and Peyton. Worst case scenario, he'll help develop our current crop of QBs.
Now that personal licenses are available, finally UT gains the advantage having all that money it was hoping for..... DD
Finally got around to watching ewers film and OMG, that kid has effortless throwing motion. He's slinging it all over the field and he doesn't seem like he's even trying. This was film from his junior because he went to Ohio State for what would have been his senior year. Arch Manning doesn't even look as good mechanically.
He definitely has all the tools. I'd think spending a year with Ohio State instead of humiliating HS defenses will be a huge developmental edge. However, you seen any video of Garrett Gilbert in HS?
Yes I did. He went to school down the street from me. Gilbert had a cannon of an arm but he never had to throw the ball past his second read. Ewers was always looking down field from the videos I saw and took quite a few sacks because of it. Gilbert's issue was that he had tunnel vision. From what I've seen Ewers is the opposite.
That was a joke about GG. You just echoed what I've said before, their offense was gift-wrapped for him, playing against inferior CenTex competition for the most part, and he never had to learn to read a defense or anything advanced. The staff at UT didn't help him later on either. Yet he was still the #1 QB in the country, because he had talent and sure as hell looked the part. Ewers looks like a different animal. Yet I'm also at the point with UT football where "I'll believe it when I see it."
No idea if Charlie can still call a good defense but that recruiting in South Florida just got a lot more interesting.
Dude. Buck you are one of my favorite posters but your love of UT and slandering CenTex has me questioning everything. I think I need some time.
Lol. Just an observation from watching years of CenTex HS football. There are a few strong-to-great programs (most scattered in various districts and classifications), and then there's roadkill.
Yeah, it's pretty much Westlake, Lake Travis and Cedar Park every year and they all fairly close to each other geographically.
Unless Ewers can't get a handle on the playbook between now and Septermber, he is going to be the starting quarterback. There is nothing Card can do that is better than Ewers. The only question on Ewers is if he can read college defenses. Physically, he can just sling it.
