Nah, I missed it too. All I heard them say was "lower leg injury" Well, his yards/touch has dropped below 20, so he obviously still has some things to work on.
I saw it. His foot was pointing completely backwards, 180 degrees the wrong way. Definite dislocated ankle and I'd be surprised if there's not some ligament damage. It was gruesome.
That prominent booster was right about Strong. He's back at the level where he can be successful again.
Stark contrast between the two shows yesterday. Gameday had no qualms going to town on Herman and Texas, and nothing they said was incorrect really. FOX on the other hand seemed to tip toe very carefully around the subject. A few under the cuff remarks about Urban but never actually talked about whether Herman should be fired or not. Could be nothing but interesting nonetheless. Practice was apparently cancelled today. Not sure if planned but maybe something to keep an eye on. Edit: Sounds like Sunday practice is usually cancelled after a win.
Assuming no leg or foot bones were broken (the ankle is merely a joint), they pop the dislocated bone back into place and there's no emergency. Probably won't walk on it for a long time, though, especially if there's tendon damage. The guy's young, though, likely about 20. Everyone's pretty stretchy at that age, so he may be ready to go by next season.
Broken fibula too, but depending on the severity they sometimes don't even re-set the bone. They didn't with my stress-fracture (but that was also midway up my leg).
I think Urban is seeing how miserable a job the Texas gig is because of the fanbase and 9.95ers. I hope Herman steps down because he can't do his job due to this bullshit and we end up with Franklin.
This would be completely unsurprising - there's no upside for him unless he's just really bored. He's already won titles at two places similar to Texas and can make money anytime he wants. The only job I see him taking is Notre Dame if they don't win one soon and Kelly leaves for the NFL - that is his dream job, would be a unique challenge, and he could be a legend there since Notre Dame hasn't won in a long time. Plus you can make a fun national schedule and don't have to go play in exciting places like Kansas and Lubbock.
