Shouldn't have let Muschamp go. Damn you Brown.

To be fair, they didn't really let Muschamp go. The only way he'd have stayed is if Brown retired right then, and no one knew that him leaving was a possibility until the Florida job was offered.

Some so-called insiders say it's Chris Peterson since the boise coaches have hung out at TX in the offseason before, but who knows, I assume it's the Joe jamails etc who sign off on it since they pay the salary.

I agree with SF - Chris Peterson is probably at the top of the list, and there were rumors about an unofficial coach-in-waiting type thing back when the coordinators got changed a few years ago. I'd also think Chip Kelly would be near the top of the list of people to talk to.

I don't think they would go with an unproven mid-tier coach (I hear Paul Rhodes' name a lot), and most of the big names are locked in at "final destination" type locations. The other option would be an ex-NFL coach like Gruden.

I don't think Petrino fits the family image UT likes to project, and I believe Tressel is facing sanctions if and when he comes back to college football.

just back a brinks truck up to Saban's house in tuscaloosa and be done with it. everyone says saban would never leave bama but he's proven time and time again that he'd leave for either a new challenge or a boatload of cash.

If Petersen goes to Texas with his "meh" track record and Mack Brown is out... that'll be a decision that will be regretted pretty quickly. The fans need to relax. I can't think of a program that has maintained elite status for all of eternity. Texas' time is up, they'll be back on top again soon enough, just let the cycle do its thing...

What is your deal with acknowledging that Boise State is an elite program?

They consistently kicked the ass of every BCS and Top 25 program they faced for over a decade.

Their pee-pee > your pee-pee. Get over it bro.

If no sweater or the cheater for their baggage why not art briles. He has done wonders with baylor and you know he has no problem jumping ship or why not sumlin? It looks like he is doing way better than a lot of people predicted with A+M.

I wouldnt' be surprised if there's some bad blood against Briles from his strategic voting in 2008 that helped keep Texas out of the BCS title game.

Saban's not going anywhere. He'd go from a god in Tuscaloosa to a devil if he left directly for another NCAA job

Mack Brown has done less with more than any coach in the history of college football.
