Ya this was a big one. Also picked up a 3* OLB out of Florida in Marcus Tillman Jr. Honestly have no idea about him but had offers from Florida, Clemson, Miss St., Ohio St., South Carolina, and VaTech.
I wonder if we'll get to host Gameday against USC in week 3. If both Texas and USC are 2-0, it seems like a natural selection. I got curious this morning and looked up when the last time UT hosted Gameday; it was 2009. While I know that hosting Gameday isn't that big of a deal, reading something like that makes you realize how long the program has been in the wilderness.
Yup sad that there really hasn’t been a meaningful home game in quite some time now. LSU @ Auburn and TCU @ Ohio State are the big matchups that week although the latter are playing at Jerryworld.
Just insert "UT" instead of "UCLA" .... nah... maybe not... doesn't have the same ring to it. Looking forward to visiting Austin.
Yup. 247 reported CDC fundraised $125M of the $175M for the renovation. Then gave Herman the keys to design the renovation to his liking. Pretty ridiculous.
I love UT and everything, but every-damn-one of you guys needs to stop giving money to the football program. Give it to a library or a ?whatever?
Not a bad strategy. I've heard that Plan II alumni donate 40% of the total amount raised by the College of Liberal Arts each year. Considering that there are only ~700 Plan II students out of the ~10,000 Liberal Arts students at any one time, they are punching way above their weight.
Didn't like the Plan II "mooching off the rich" smack, but looking back at it you're all good. And give your money, if you have money to give, to a better organization than UT athletics, they don't need it. BTW, it was ~500 students in '93, no idea what it is now.
As a former student manager, I can’t recommend Texas Student Media enough. The Daily Texan, KVRX, TSTV and Travesty (yes, even them) all provide incredible opportunities for kids to find a home on a huge campus and create something unique for public consumption.
