I actually don't have confidence in them beating anyone except for Kansas. I was being nice. I swear If I were UH, I'd want in the ACC. This conference is such garbage.
Think a lot has to do with raised expectations after ND and everything that has transpired since. You can't be Charlie Strong and put out the defenses we have seen the past 2 games on top of last season. Keeping Bedford after Cal, vowing to personally fix the defense, and the performance after a bye week prepping for conference play was icing on the cake for a lot of people. I'm thinking the magic number is 8 wins at the very minimum.
Main notes from presser: - Strong taking over play calling duties - Bedford will concentrate on secondary with Jennings
Report: Charlie Strong out as Texas' coach after the season Graham Watson Dr. Saturday editor Oct 3, 2016, 10:55 AM
Bedford made himself as a DB coach so think he can be of benefit there. Jennings has a been a huge disappointment.
I feel strongly that he'll be fired if UT loses by 21 or more points next week. You really want to have a head coach opening as the bowl season starts. It wouldn't be ideal if they keep strong and UT does barley make a bowl.

No Chris Warren this week. A banged up D'onta Foreman is expected to play. Without either one at full strength, I don't see any chance of winning on Saturday.
Good. There's no reason to give any hopes that they will keep Charlie. Best to lose this game for the sake of the future.
I wonder what today would be like if Oliver Luck was hired as AD instead of Steve Patterson. I'm betting we would be in much better position to build a replacement for the Erwin Center with a city partnership. I know Patterson did not involve all the people that are normally involved in hiring a head coach however I don't know who else was really available for UT to hire. I didn't like the hire but there wasn't a better alternative.
Looks like we've made a few people upset. http://www.khou.com/sports/college/...with-shameless-signal-to-tom-herman/328823131
Well the rumor was that Luck wasn't willing to come in and fire Mack so who really knows where we'd be. I think we may have had another year of Mack which I would've taken in hindsight. But the AD search has fallen by the wayside in all of this. I like Perrin but if he's not here for the long haul, we need to get that done before the HC search begins IMO.
This is all BS. When you are paid that much money you better win. You aren't the highest paid state employee to graduate students and run a clean program. No one should feel sorry for strong. You have all the resources in the world. One of three best states for recruiting. Unlimited money. Jim Harbaugh and even tom Tom Herman turned their programs around instantly. We are in year 3 and the big 12 isn't any good either. This should not be acceptable.
