Horns were lucky Baylor was without their QB. Good win though.

OK, I guess all the injuries Texas had don't count.

Baylor didn't have their top 3 QB's , basically everybody & babies knew Baylor would run the ball every play.

When you give up 17 points in the first quarter to one of the worst football offenses in the history of man, it's not just luck. Seriously, Baylor fans are the worst.

What an ugly second half. Tale of two teams. Charlie Strong is still an enigma. Wins against OU and Baylor, but gets shutout by TCU and wrecked by Iowa state, even though that's not the same Baylor team.

We should be bowling this year if the refs didn't hand OkSt the game. Honestly, I'm having a hard time evaluating Strong. Too many head scratchers both for and against. Let's see what he does now that he gets his own players in his system.

Texas played six true freshmen on defense and were missing something like 10 starters in total, including the two best linebackers. Texas didn't have a good QB playing for them either, so I don't see where Baylor was at a huge disadvantage in this game.

The QB is the most important position in football. When a team gets its third string QB hurt and then they have to bring in a WR to play QB, that is a huge disadvantage.

Not sure what this is suppose to mean. Texas having crappy QBs is part of why we're so bad. Baylor having a great QB is part of why they are so good. Without their top 3 QBs, Baylor is a bad team like Texas. And our bad QBs at least have 1-2 years of playing experience instead of none.

It's not a disadvantage - but it does explain why Baylor sucked so bad.

I'd take 6 true freshman from an elite D1 program and toss 10 starters if whatever air raid team I was playing had to play a WR at QB.

Have you seen the crap Texas has played at QB this year?

For most of the game, Texas was playing 3 freshman LBs and 5 freshmen DBs. By the end of the game UT was playing 2/11 starters on defense.

Except that Baylor isn't an air raid team.

Sure, but they're 20th in passing yards and their starting QB has missed half the season so it's safe to say that number is low.

That's the point. When you have sucky QBs, you generally get sucky results. Baylor is no exception - except their problem is that all their QBs are injured rather than just not having any in the first place.

They do count. But the Horns did give up 17 pts to a guy who plays WR as QB in one half.

Sure Baylor's defense isn't anything to write about. But, they win their games outscoring opponents a lot. That's not going to happen if your QB gets knocked out. Also, I'm a Longhorns fan.

Strong with another signature win - Oklahoma and now @ Baylor. Robbed by officials against Okie State. Imagine what he could do with a QB.

More like an asterisk win. I don't think I've ever seen a team have to resort to a 4th string QB like Baylor did, yet they still seemed to move the ball at will. Wish we could have seen Baylor with a legit QB. Wanted to see how far the team has come since that TCU debacle. But this win is not one to brag about. Haha. Of course, still very happy we did in fact win. Just a very weird, oddball game.

Disappointing season but nice to finish it out with a win nonetheless. Strong needs to knock his OC hire out of the park and bring in a JUCO QB.
