The last TD from swoopes was awesome. Everyone knew he was going to run it, but could not stop him at all!

    That run was very VY-like.

Great win for a bunch of reasons. Mostly just getting that Bill Snyder sized gorilla off their back.

Money for coordinators hasn't been and won't be an issue. Strong's selections has been somewhat questionable though. Continuity maybe a factor as a brand new OC would be his 3rd in 3 years.

Truth is that we do not have the personnel to run a spread them out, air-raid offense to put up 40-50 ppg. We do have an evolving running game and I like that we are adjusting the offense to our players instead of the other way around.

Also, Traylor ran one of the most successful HS programs and put up ridiculous numbers year after year. A lot of good coaches came out of the TX HS ranks and many think Traylor could be next in line.

This also includes a $15M endowment for athletic scholarships from KD.

I think we have the personnel. Look at TCU on offense two years ago. I've never seen a worse offense. Next year, they look like the best offense ever. The coordinator can make a big difference.

I think we should give Swoopes a couple series today. Oh yeah, I said it. Heard is not a reliable threat to break 100 yds. passing. Swoopes can pass (not Tom Brady, but better than Heard), and he's proven he's not too shabby on mobility, as we have seen recently. Why define Swoopes' role based on his performance against by far the best defense we've faced and with old, sh#tty plays. Why not give him a chance against Iowa State for a couple drives? We don't have the kind of offense where we can win consistently without any legit threat of the pass.

I think the best place is Barking Carnival. For recruiting info, you can find out some stuff for free on Texas247

Thanks! I definitely prefer the format of this forum. I wish there was more activity on here, but obviously, people are going to come here to talk Rockets.

We look awful. I'm calling for Swoopes next series! Heard has 200 yds. passing the last 3 games. It only rained at K State. Almost was intercepted last drive. Seems like we win a few games and we feel too good about ourselves again.

Our offense is so slow and very predictable. And our defense has no idea how to contain.

Heard -3 yds. passing, 1 Interception. How can you be a 4 star QB recruit and not know how to throw? Why not just have Daje Johnson play QB?

How did Heard get 300 yds. passing against Cal??? He has 200 yds. total passing in the 3 games since. It only rained in one of those games.

And he's lucky he didn't have a pick 6 earlier!

It is hard to understand how we have recruited QBs who are such poor passers. I even mentioned it when Heard went off on Cal that I wasn't too impressed with his throws because they were to open receivers. Heard still has much to improve on in his accuracy and reads. That said, I'd still play him over Swoopes. Heard has time to develop, Swoopes has shown us what he's got.

Swoopes might be a better choice for tonight.

Heard has been horrible and predictable

At the end of last year, I wanted us to revoke Swoopes' scholarship. Looking back though, Swoopes had some good passing games last year - OU, UCLA.

    Heard ain't doing sh#t. Let's make a change!

Wide open and Swoopes still can't throw on target.

That was really bad. :( I don't think we have any good options at QB, but I still feel putting Swoopes in earlier and keeping him in would have given him a chance. Our current situation eliminates any QB run possibilities. That worked a bit with Swoopes earlier.

If Zach Gentry was here, I'd be yelling his name, but these two options are all we have. I think Swoopes is the slightly less horrific choice at this point.

Losing 24-0 to Iowa State the equivalent of losing 58-0 to undefeated Clemson? Does it get any worse than this? Anybody going to proclaim we don't have the talent to compete with Iowa Stat? WTF!
