Mangino wasn't a great coach, but for a spell he got the best out of his players. Though it was probably out of fear.

Turner Gil has been nothing but horrible since being there. He can't recruit, and does not seem to be a good X & O guy either.

Mangino was unpopular, but he worked miracles there. Kansas was a solid program under him, now they are back to being football doormats.

We needed this cakewalk after two tough games. Kansas was pathetic, scrimmages are more competitive.

We may run the clock out from here

Texas 522 Yards 30 First Downs
    40 Minutes TOP

Kansas 18 Yards 2 First Downs
    13 Minutes TOP

I don't think I've ever seen stats this lopsided, in any game.

Well that was a complete yawner. I guess Ash is our QB from here on out? PLEASE recruit a QB that has an arm.

For some reason, the Texas coaches are overating arms and underating brains.

Ash is gonna be a great QB you watch. I question the intellect of those who judge the kid by his 2nd start as a true freshman. And btw he has a great arm....

He does, but he never goes through progressions on his reads, and Harsin trusts him so little that he only allows him to bubble screen.

BTW - wtf ever happened to throwing the ball to the back in the flat? That is so much more effective than the bubble screen.

You're right. We should totally expect an 18-yr old kid to be able to make all the throws and be able to do all the things a few junior or senior NFL prospect qb's can do.

Of course Leroy, that is why I want a little more Case, he has a better understanding on the field.

Usually when you have a young QB, you rely on the back out in the flat and the tight ends in the middle of the field.....I would love to see the Tight ends catch some balls and the thought of Bergeron, Whittaker, and Brown with the ball one on one with a CB in the flat is pretty exciting too.

I think it's clear they see Ash as the long term answer. Case is nice, but he's not his brother. Ash has the arm and the athletic ability. He just needs time to put it all together. So far, he's not doing so bad for a true freshman. I'd prefer they just name him the starting qb and quit all this week-to-week nonsense. I understand the need to keep players practicing hard to fight for their jobs. But qb is different. They need some stability.

Not saying that I disagree with you, but isn't that exactly what led to the disastrous Gilbert era?
