I would like to say that we (OU) are going to win this one going away, but I hate Landry Jones. He's overrated and I can definitely see him choking this away. It'll either be a blowout, or me cussing out Jones for 3 hours. I dunno if either result will be worth a drive to Dallas. Man, who am I kidding? I'll be there regardless.
I don't know what to think about this game. If the kids on the UT roster don't get caught up in the moment, they could do very well and surprise OU. Jones is a statue and I think the UT line can get to him. The question will be if they can stop OU if they have good protection. I don't think they can. I'm not crazy about the offense, either. I still think it will be close. oU - 31 Texas - 24
The only way Texas is going to win is if its a low scoring affair. I hope I'm wrong on this one. I just don't see our young quarterbacks having a great game.
Per Chris Level's Twitter- Chris Level Explains his visit to SMU's practice today RT @ suzhalliburton Garrett Gilbert is transferring. UT gave him unconditional release. Gilbert to SMU? Wish him the best.
All the harsh criticisms aside, he's still a kid. Sadly, it didn't work out for him in Texas. Good luck wherever he ends up.
I wish Gilbert luck, but he could not handle the pressure of playing at UT....just gakked it up too much. DD
I wish him the best, but I don't feel sorry for Gilbert at all. He was given every opportunity in the world to succeed, but just couldn't handle it. Best of luck to him moving forward though. Seems like a solid guy.
I think we throw in good qb pressure and force Jones to rush his passes. Dropping back and giving all of the time in the world will never work imo.
Feel bad for him... But someone nows needs to instill an education 1st mentality to him.......Because obviously , there is no NFL future for him after this
You just never know, he has 2 years of eligibility remaining. Troy Aikman transfered to UCLA for OU....so sometimes it works out. DD
I feel bad for the kid. Growing up in Austin, his childhood dream must have been to play for the longhorns. I read online he committed to TX the first day after he got an offer and never considered any other schools. Best of luck to him.
No doubt on a personal level it is pretty sad. On a UT fan level it is: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SLY7yI1xV-M" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> DD
I don't feel bad for him. He sucked. He had an arrogant attitude before he even stepped foot on UT campus.
Why SMU? I think he needs to go very far from home and gain a lot of mental strength on his own for him to have a chance.
Yeah, he sucked but I don't think he was arrogant. Unless you were around him long enough, which I doubt since you are probably an everyday normal fan like the rest of us.
From someone who went to school with him in HS, yeah we was very arrogant. And thats what I hear from numerous people in Austin.
