Damn this defense is just bawler. Jeffcoat is a beast. Loved the Tyson show in the delay. So awesome.

    Next 5 games..

    Kansas
    WVU
    Oklahoma St.
    Texas Tech
    Baylor

Horns absolutely have to win the next two. Having TTU and OK State in Austin helps. Baylor on the road is going to be the toughest game, no doubt. If this defense shows up every game, they should be in every one of these games.

this leads me to believe that Ash could be done for the year, or at least the coaching staff has their doubts about his availability because of his concussion issue. Good to get Swoopes into the game at the end to get him some live action. He's the back up if Case goes down and needs his reps. Sucks to burn his shirt but that's my take.

sucks about Swoopes, but the optimistic way of looking at is is either Swoopes is a stud and would have left for the NFL after his 3rd year anyway, or, the new QB coming next year is gonna be a stud and force Swoopes out by Swoopes' 3rd year.

I'm not terribly concerned about Swoopes and whether he's eligible for 2017. Different coach, different system, 4 more recruiting classes worth of QB's, etc. More and more, great QBs are leaving early for the NFL. If he's great, he'd likely be gone. If he's not, then hopefully someone else beat him out.

Just look at Manziel - what could have been for A&M if Manziel had gotten experience in 2011 and had already gone through the learning process by the time they played Florida (and LSU) last year? If Swoopes is starting for us next year, I'd rather he get experience this year - though it needs to be real game experience.

I don't follow the team as closely as some of you guys. Is Swoopes supposed to be a good qb prospect. With a stud qb and better coaching this actually could of been a top ten team imho

If Texas wins the big 12 then I think Mack has earned another year. The is especially true if BYU and Ole Miss keep winning.

No. Just no. This needs to end. When they suck, he doesn't want to leave because he doesn't want to leave on a down note. When they are good, he doesn't want to leave because they have potential. It just needs to end - the program's problems go far deeper than this year (recruiting, culture, etc), and their doing well this year has less to do with being good than the fact that the rest of this conference sucks. David Ash was the best returning QB in the Big12, a league that is built around QBs. That should tell us something about the quality of the conference this year.

Then they lose 48 to 3 vs. OU or whatever again next year and he's gotta "fix this thing" again.

No way that Luck or whoever even agrees to take the job without clarity there.
