Funny thing is you could extend that to all basketball fans of programs in Texas. Only one Texas school has ever won the NCAA and that was Texas Western (UTEP) back in the days. I'm sure there have been programs that have had spurts of success, but no championships.
sports illustrated and espn are doing everything possible to predict scenarios where Texas doesn't win. It's better that Texas is pretty much the unanimous underdog for the final four though because they'll play better with less pressure.
ahh ok now i remember what you are talking about. yes, SC did a little piece where they said UT would be the first #1 to lose in the tournament and it would be to UNC-Asheville, but it was just a joke. they did a whole UNCA beat this team, that beat this team, that beat this team, and after about 15 of those i think they got to colorado who of course beat us and so they said unca would beat us. they were completely joking and no one actually said they thought unca would beat us. now lsu they said would beat us plenty of times.
Of course, everyone forgets that both the ESPN experts and the fans picked Texas to lose to Kentucky in the Title Game.... But I guess we should keep screaming lack-of-respect if not everyone in the world picks us to win it all.
The UT Women are final four bound too after dominating LSU tonight! Texas has the best athletics in division I, bar none. HOOK EM' PROUDLY TONIGHT GUYS!
who cares. DVau, I'd rather watch you play in a pick-up game. Also, I getting the feeling you are more passionate about Longhorn sports than the Rockets. That's not a bad thing, I just want to know if my feeling was correct.
I'm just as passionate about the Rockets, but..... A) I can't get most games in Austin B) They arent as successful right now as UT is but by far it is reason A why I seem more passionate about UT. Plus the fact the rockets forum has been reduced to crap so I rarely bother to venture in there anymore. You can't go in there for any really good insightful debate on the team like in the past. And I dont see many games so I cant really comment like I could when I grew up in Houston(Katy actually). And as far as the women, I'm a broadcast journalism major and I have school pride, so I care. Of course they don't get the same pub as the men, but they deserve their props nonetheless. UT is one of only a handful of schools to have both their basketball teams in the final four in the same year, and that is a noteworthy accomplisment. That who cares attitude about women's sports needs to change in my opinion, but I understand why it exists. Anyways, I just get really excited when sports teams I love do something very impressive, and this was the case tonight.
