The Michigan State team who lost to Gonzaga by 1 point playing on the deck of an aircraft carrier? The same Michigan State that beat #4 Kentucky last night? lolwhywhat?
Because of the lineup Texas fields with a bunch of good senior players like Allen and Car along with the addition of Tyrese Hunter as a transfer along with what I thought was a hell of a recruit in Dillon Mitchell (even though he's a freshman) - they're pretty good on paper. I didn't think losing Christie and Brown from last year was going to be easily replaced by Michigan St., at least not early in the season, but maybe the Izzo factor will do it.
That ranks among the most surprising Texas basketball games I've ever watched. Sure Shaka had teams that randomly beat UNC on a buzzer beater and made a hundred threes at Allen Fieldhouse, but that was a thorough wire-to-wire ass kicking.
It's early and all blah blah blah but the entire BigX(II) is ranked in the top 50 of espn's BPI metric (UT/Baylor #2/3) Coogs are #1.
Loved the Beard hiring for UT. Wish UH moving to the B12 happened for this year so we could see them face off with these two current teams. Hopefully UT's exit from the B12 doesn't happen in 2023 so they at least get some matchups in. I don't think they're leaving until 2024 right?
Huge win against #7 Creighton today Horns have legit argument to be ranked #1 (currently #2) Coogs are #1 with Baylor in the Top 10 The state is doing great
A UH/UT Final in Houston would be amazing Josh Criswell on Twitter: ""They're over-deserving of any attention they're getting." Last week, Houston coach Kelvin Sampson mentioned Texas as a team deserving of the No. 1 ranking. This morning, it was UT coach Chris Beard with some high praise for Sampson and the Cougars. https://t.co/0T5daQCh52" / Twitter
Sorry ass UT loss to #17 Illinois and they were up by 10 points with less than 5 mins left to play and the refs were trying to help UT out with some tacky calls and they still end up losing!
You think so? I have to think that they do everything possible to find a way out of this for him. He has UT as a top 5-10 program going forward.
